Why didn't he just fucking explain to Maya that she was in danger? He overheard the conversation between Pearl and Morgan and knew about the plan. All he had to do was explain the situation to Maya, she probably would've told Pearl to not follow Morgan's plans in the first place. Pearl would not have channeled Dahlia if she knew that it would put Maya in danger. Misty also acted like a moron, her plan to stop Pearl was inviting her to read a picture book? And her backup was going directly to Maya and summoning Dahlia herself, which put Maya in the same amount of danger?
Why the fuck did everyone act like such a retard in the last case?
He literally explains this at length at the end of the game. He was blinded (lol) with rage about the person who took everything from him. He says he got too wrapped up in his desire to take revenge on Dhalia that he truly didn't care if Maya or Misty got hurt because of it, and knew when he decided to act that he would likely be killing Maya, Misty, or Pearl.
He never actually gave a damn about protecting Maya, and confesses that if he did, he would have gone to the person that cares most about Maya, Phoenix. But he was too focused on taking revenge on Dhalia, and did not believe Phoenix deserved to be Mia's successor, so he tried to play the hero on his own.

Why does he die at the end of the game?
Robert Nguyen
It's been a long time since I've played T&T but I think he says the poison is still killing him.
Isaiah White
No he doesn't. It's never stated that he dies, he's just drawn by Larry in the dead side of his illustration, symbolizing that he's effectively let go and moved on just like someone dying.

That's exactly what makes it great. Godot is a dead man walking who can't get over himself. He's obsessed with the idea of getting revenge for himself. He blames Wright for Mia's death, so the last thing he wants to work with him. He's so fucking hung up that he sees what people typically see as "not a fucking good idea" as an opportunity. >Error: Duplicate file exists. here. epic
Exactly this. Gotot blames Phoenix as a way to cope for his own inability to act. He thinks this retarded plan is a good idea because it allows him to "redeem" his failure to save Mia, and he wants to do it alone because despite Phoenix being so close to Maya, he still doesn't trust him.
A lot of people think Godot is cool just because he's cool and suave but he's actually cool because he's a true tragic character who got caught up in his own obsession.
