shit > borderlands

1>2>3
First is best because it doesn't have Tiny Tina in it. Second is better than third because it's got better DLC and characters overall. Third should've been boycotted to hell and back because of the whole goon intimidation fiasco and Randy assaulting a coworker and being an overall shithead

>developer was mean, that means game is shit

1>Tales>2>Pre Sequel>3

3 was alright on release but the annointment loot system just made it such a slog to get through or even care about doing content over and over again. It became very easy for your build to just, not work at higher mayhem modes forcing you to netdeck builds just to do proper content for better loot.
Has this shit been fixed in the recent patches/DLC? I stopped right after the Maliwan raid. I really want to like BL3 because the gameplay is actually fun.

1>3>2
1 is a timeless oddity
3 has better gameplay
2 has better content than 3 but the story and characters make it insufferable. Also the game is so poorly balanced.
Tina>Ava
In Dragon's Keep Tina is alright and in 3 she is less irritating.
Ava on the other hand has no redemption and iirc there was supposed to be a dlc focused on her and they had to drop it because of how poorly received she was

1>2>3

never played 2 but I don’t have to to rate them. 3 was garbage, the graphics were good but it felt like you were using nerf guns to kill the enemies (accuracy was a pointless stat any gun can hit the mark at 200 yards and all engagements were in that range). 1 was the best

3 > 2 > 1

1 is complete garbage. Bad skill trees, bad quests, bad dlcs, short as fuck, no endgame, bad story, lack of different environments. People who say otherwise are larping because of nostalgia or because it was the "first one", but otherwise is trash.

2 was great for it's time, but the enemy scaling is complete trash and slag ruins endgame. Handsome Jack is great, but without him the story is painfully average. DLCs range from bad (Hammerlock's Gay Hunt) to very good (Tiny Tina), skill trees are better than the prequel but worse than the sequel, guns are a downgrade from 1.

3 has a very lousy story, but the guns, gameplay, QoL improvements alone make it the best in the series. DLCs are all good so far, skill trees are all varied and interesting with different ways to build it up (With FL4K you can go Gamma, 3-shot Fade Away, Gorillas Fade Away, Rakks...), there is actual raids in this game, bosses are a massive step up in comparison to previous entries...overall is just the best in the series.

Retard. 1 has the simplest gameplay, but it is by no means bad. It's a very basic game. 2 and 3 expand the gameplay considerably, while completely fucking up the story, atmosphere, and characters. 2 and 3's dialogue is completely fucking cringe. The entire game, you're just listening to redditors yelling in your ear. I played Borderlands 3 on mute and just skipped through the cutscenes, it was fucking terrible.

>1 has the simplest gameplay, but it is by no means bad
It's terrible though. Action skills are easily the weakest of the series, enemy variety is low and the lack of movement options make the combat stale, repetitive and boring.
>2 and 3 expand the gameplay considerably, while completely fucking up the story, atmosphere, and characters.
I will agree that the atmosphere changed considerably, but the characters and story were complete garbage in the first game. It's not until BL2 were Scooter and Moxxi went from "literally who" to actual characters.
> 2 and 3's dialogue is completely fucking cringe
So is 1's dialogue when they speak. Or is "one more step or it will be your last hehehehe" actually funny or charming? No? Good.

They all were fun enough for me to play through once, but I couldn't be assed to maintain enough interest in doing any sort of replay, even as a different class. Hard for me rank them when they all failed a primary goal of having replay value for me.

If you forced me, I'd say 1 > 2 > 3 for 1st time playthrough enjoyment, because even as quality of life stuff improves with each sequel, the looter shooter novelty decreases, as well as humor quality, among other things.
They're all 1 = 2 = 3 equally shit for replay value though.

I played 2 and hated the sjw writing, are the other two worth the pirate?

1's dialogue is nothing special. But it's subtle. The little one liners when you sometimes get a critical are enjoyable. The main point is that the dialogue and characters are so damn obnoxious it completely ruins the experience. When Tiny Tina shows up and dribbles into the echo I wanted to bash my head into a wall.

2 > 3 > 1 >>>>>>>>>>>> my shit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> dog shit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PS

>1
Interesting visuals but the gameplay was really lacking and the guns weren't really fleshed out. Everything felt slow and sometimes not really responsive. Story was okay.

>2
Probably the most fun gameplay wise, the guns felt good to use, and the bosses were fun to farm. Only decent character was HJ though.

>3
Probably the best gun/combat play in the series, but the characters and locations were trash. The bosses are also a chore to farm because unless you literally 1 shot them they always fall into some type of annoying as shit invulnerable stage. Worst plot in the series.

>PS
Just trash. I hated literally every second of this game. I had no fond memories at all.

I haven't played the Tales game so I can't say anything about it.

>Probably the most fun gameplay wise
You fucked up, 3 has the most fun gameplay, only Krieg and Gaige are good in 2.

>But it's subtle
Scooter in the first game is everything but subtle. The writing in the wall was always there, you just choose to ignore it because there wasn't as much dialogue.

>only Krieg and Gaige are good in 2
Maya and Salvador were both fantastic for gameplay and fun. Salvador in particular could solo raids.

Salvador was literally just hold the left and right buttons of your mouse with a grog nozzle and a DPUH, just a cheat code. Maya is straight up inferior to Amara in everyway,

Amara is 3's Salvador

Only TTB Amara. Phasecast and Phaseslam builds (or any other Phasegrasp augment for that matter) is well balanced.

1>2>Watching paint dry>3
I don't get how they could get rid of Anthony "memelord" Burch and still be unable to improve the writing.

>playing Borderlands for the writing

garbage>Call of Duty>AIDS>Call of Duty but with gacha for the guns and epic pickle rick maymays

I got fairly late on the borderlands train. Supposedly, you should play the game with others? I finished 1 solo as a berserker and apparently it is odd I solo'd the last boss. I just went retard rage and fisted him to death.

>1
+Best gun balance, guns will carry you multiple levels
+Least amount of obnoxious characters and scenes
-Character trees might as well not exist, everyone feels relatively the same to play
+/- Gritty desert atmosphere works well to set the tone but my god does it get boring

>2
+much better player characters
+Dameon Clarke's Jack performance carried the game
+/-More gimmicky guns means when they're bad, they're really bad but when they're good they're OP
-fucktarded scaling, guns become practically useless one level later in UVHM
-dank maymays started showing up here
-Tiny Tina
+/- More varied environments make it less boring but detracts from the barren wasteland feel of 1

>TPS
+PCs are on par with if not better than the ones offered in 2
+better scaling than 2
-Changing the language on the voices goes from something you can do to something you must do, it's that bad
-Traversing the moon is extremely boring and slow because of low-grav, almost kills the game for me
-more like memerlands the pre-memequel
~carried over gun design from 2

>3
didn't play lol

Co-op isn't needed but in the late game it gets nice to be playing with people when you're going through the game multiple times because company makes it less dull.

2 Is overall the best in the series, but as many others have pointed out, the writing is mostly abhorrent, with some noteworthy exceptions.
1 Is a great game, idc what critics have to say about it. The writing is bearable because it's so minimalistic, and it's better to have very little writing and story rather than having shitty, cringeworthy writing. The gameplay is definitely not as good as 2, but it's totally fine regardless.
3 has undoubtedly the best, and most refined gameplay in the series, everything in that regard is basically perfect. The reason it's not the best game in the series though, is because the writing is completely unbearable, the antagonists are terrible and the new NPC characters are trash.
TPS. Fuck that game.

1>shit>>>>>>>>>3

I unironically like 1 the most from a setting point of view.
It has less snarky and sarcastic gearbox humor and instead if just a depressing rusty junkyard world full of left behind prisoners that went insane and not twitch streamers and their followers.
The desolation and semi hopelessness is nice in a way.

Though Tales has the cutest robot ever.
