Seeing the Xenification of Earth was something I've been waiting for since Raising the Bar. It was supposed to be this huge important point following the resonance cascade that areas of Earth were just completely devoured by Xenian flora and fauna, and you got a little bit of that with the bounce pads and snark nests in the original Half-Life, but you never actually SAW any of that shit in HL2 or its episodes.
Seeing the halls of the Northern Star swallowed up by weird Xenian plants that used humans as biomass to continue growing/flowering; seeing the tiny tentacles in that one bathtub inside a bombed-out building; the fucking spores in the Jeff level that you had to cover your mouth for...goddamn it's everything I wanted.

I played Alyx for 12 hours then realized it was shit. Now the most use my headset gets is when I feel like playing H3VR for half an hour once in a blue moon.

I wasn't particularly impressed by it, either.
The whole thing plays ridiculously safe with no risks whatsoever, there are barely any clever VR interactions besides stuff like how you obtain the shotgun, the enemies don't really pose a threat and halfway through I got sick of fighting the same slow zombies and headcrabs over and over.
It definitely was a step forward in what VR is capable visually and length-wise but in terms of gameplay a lot of the stuff was at least a step backwards.

VR does that to most games, that's why playing an older game feels refreshing when in VR.
Have you ever watched those VR trailer for games and think "wow this looks shit", and it turns out to be amazing in VR. It's just the nature of the medium

9/10 people love Alyx, those 1/10 folks are cunts that cant enjoy anything. There are issues with Alyx, yes, but minor at best. When you come from a more freedom-based engine like Boneworks, Alyx does feel a bit weird in places, but once you adapt you really can't dislike the game, it feels so good to look and play with, especially with custom maps outside Valve's game design

you're getting a little excited, its not that great, and necessarily cause you can't run nice shit in VR cause rendering is a harder problem. And if its good at all, its because they spent the last decade trying to figure out how to make anything useful in VR because its not an inviting platform to do so

This is a personal favourite of mine, I love RTS games and Dota 2 for that matter, so it combines both into a VR world. it looks beautiful, even with the cartoon style and offers something that is very rare to do in VR. I would wait for a sale for 50% off, but this is a must buy if you love RTS games. Please note that it doesn't have infinite replayability due to the A.I and lack of players. It didn't deserve to be unnoticed

This mod is so good, it might as well be an official VR game. If you have Doom 3 BFG edition (not default Doom 3), you can play the game fully in VR with controls. It's the second best shooter below Alyx.

Ammo is only an issue at the very start and later on you'll be swimming in pistol and SMG rounds.
The only thing that remain scarce are shotgun shells.
