I've never had this issue before. WoW, ESO, Rift, Wildstar, SWTOR. If I pick any NA server, perfect connection.

Except they do. Square considers XIV to be a mainline game and the expansions to be stand alone FF games. WoW doesn't compete with WC3 because Blizzard doesn't want it to. They don't care about making WoW a good game with a good story, they just want to sell subs and mounts.

Of course I've played FF5. FFIII still has more relevance both in the story and in sheer amount of references. It had a whole raid series dedicated to it and FF5 just got a savage fight. Eureka is mostly FF5 even though it has the FF3 name but there are currently at least three arrangements of Eternal Wind in the game at this point.
