fun games
1. Successor to both 3DS and Wii U, which sold 75 million + 13.5 million.
2. Good design.
3. Good marketing.
>no far cry
>no call of duty
>no grand theft auto
>no watch dogs
>no fifa
>no madden
nothing of value lost
>mario
>Luigi
>splatoon
>Zelda
>smash bros
And nothing of value was gained
This
Wrong
dunno all the fucking games stay $60 forever and when they go on sale they are only $50 instead kek
kek indeed
It has FIFA tho
No idea
It made the exact same mistakes the Wii-U made but this time it worked
I stoped trying to make sense of it
Nintendo is cult like Apple. It's a good system for kids.
It's called exclusive first-party games.
Nintendo has the strongest IP line-up out of any of the three major consoles.
Nintendo has developed a following with all of its IP. More people know about Mario, Pokemon, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, etc. than any of Sony or Microsoft's IPs.
People also buy Nintendo because it's relatively cheaper than the other shit. Nintendo doesn't compete on power; it competes on gimmicks, and those gimmicks attract a certain fanbase.
>Why are casuals buying the most casual platform on the market?
>Doesn't call itself the Wii; lets people know right away that it is a separate system, NOT an add-on to the existing Wii
>Switch does what the Wii U promised to do but better (actually playing off TV)
>Finally consolidates Nintendo's console and handheld divisions by focusing on a SINGLE device
>A solid first- and second-party collection of games, better than their competition, and exclusive to the system
>Caters and markets not to children or to casuals, but to hardcore Nintendo fans (young to early adults) in its marketing.
>Comes with BOTW as a launch title
>Has SMO and MK8D in first year
>Nearly every major Nintendo IP has had a game printed on Switch
Nintendo doesn't even have the highest brand loyalty of the three console manufacturers though
>still an underpowered piece of shit
>still no real third party support
>marketing focus was still on the gimmick
the devil may cry 3 special edition port alone makes the system worth
go to wallmart, and look at the electronics section.
everything is sold out.the fact is nintendo moved their production line to vietnam, and other places. they been making a ton of switch consoles and constantly restocking stores. While no one is buying xbox an ps4 because their waiting for the the next console upgrade.
same reason ps4 is
you gotta build hype in the first year, then momentum will keep it up forever
They pulled a hail mary by combining their two platforms into one and it worked.
Sometimes it is, but I only buy things I like and that's not much imao.
>second-party collection of games
wtf is second-party, there is only first or third retard.
>Caters and markets not to children or to casuals, but to hardcore Nintendo fans...
Funny because I was a hardcore Nintendo fan up until the piece of shit that was the Wii came out and Nintendo decided to abandon their core fanbase in favor of attracting 40 year old single mothers, old people, and 6 year olds with a shitty gimmick. I bet you grew up on the Wii though didn't you zoomzoom?
normie shit
For me I like it because it have some games I love or want to play.
>there is only first or third retard.
moron
>zoomzoom
go back
boomboom
It's not competing directly with Sony or Microsoft In the hardware race, it's pointless considering they are just PC's with less games or control options. The switch has a fairly unique gimmick and a solid but still small library. I'll probably get one eventually if there is a new model or price drop but I dont really need a portable system atm.
Okay you have first party games which are created by Nintendo owned studios, or you have third party games which are games only funded by Nintendo. So what is second party then genius? I have never heard the term "second party title" literally ever. Wanna know why? Because it's not a thing dumbass.
why do niggers still have a hateboner for this after 3 years?
en.wikipedia.org
google is your friend, definitely a better option than making an ass of yourself
Nintendo was supposed to die with the Wii U
absolutely.
though I imagine Nintendo would do well to get GTAV on this thing, if only to please the normies who consider that game god's gift to mankind
splatoon is good though
Games?
fpbp
I dislike the artificial scarcity and the complete lack of sales for any nintendo product
I learned my lesson after the Wii U, so I'm not buying nintendo anymore
Normies (parents included) want videogames because quarantine. Nintendo is the first on their mind because it's worry free where as something as core as Playstation is probably intimidating and doesn't fit their taste or lifestyle. For the younger people, Animal Crossing is probably a big factor, because it is "trending" and "chic" at the moment.
>ps4 and switch have exclusive games
>sell extremely well
>xbox has few exclusive games
>sells poorly
also nintendo is a more positive company. people want fun mario beating up rando enemies not grimdark shit like tlou2.
>still an underpowered piece of shit
Why is this always an argument? If you play Nintendo games, they all run silky smooth. You should really start blaming the shitty third-party developers and shitty engines out there that run like shit on the Switch.
Nintendo had the revolutionary idea to sell fun games
they found the 20/30 something normie market. mario kart, animal crossing, and pokemon probably sold more consoles than any other exclusives.
not needing a TV and it being the socially acceptable console sealed the deal
Good games and a clear goal in mind, plus a spot on marketing campaign, while WiiU had good games, a confusing identity and an atrocious marketing campaign.
What other console manufacturer has a fanbase that buys games at $60 half a decade after their release?
What other console manufacturer has a fanbase that trips over eachother to buy $60 ports of 2 decade old games?
What other console manufacturer has a fanbase that gladly buys a rebranded $150 nvidia tablet being sold for $300?
What other console manufacturer has a fanbase that buys fucking CARDBOARD because it has their logo on it?
>fps
>fps
>fps
>fps
>sports
>sports
its even popular to people that doesn't even touch a mobile game
Females and being the only console with worthwhile kid friendly current gen games
Nobody bought Labo you idiot.
>B-b-but it sold a million
Yeah after two years and numerous price cuts which Nintendo rarely do.
>If you play Nintendo games, they all run silky smooth.
lol
Far cry and GTA would be great but the rest are trash. Other than watch dogs 1 but I'm sure that's too old for them to care about porting. Although they did do pirate's creed. So here's hoping?
I actually bought a switch and animal crossing for my mom because shes got early signs of alzheimers. Doctor said needed something to focus on. Ended up playing three hours in a row until her eyes hurt cause it was late, then today she played it for five hours straight.
>shit americuck games and worthless eurojank
who fucking cares lmao
Wait what Nvidia tablets at 150 bucks can rival the Switch?
even the 3ds had gta this is a weird choice
Yeah, a lot of women who wouldn’t play video games to begin with are picking up switches for animal crossing and similar games.
I have one question though, why did the 3DS get dedicated games for it and the switch gets watered down ps4 ports? did devs become more lazy or..?
also why is capcom largely ignoring the switch? they just shit out old gen ports
