I can understand believing in a higher power or higher purpose. I can understand the appeal of Christian values too, and I think the community aspect is probably one of religion’s greatest strengths. What I can’t understand is believing in one specific religion and denying all other possibilities.

What are the chances that a bunch of people thousands of years ago figured everything out? These people lacked understanding of even some of the most basic of modern sciences, yet you’re going to take their word for it on the meaning behind all of creation? I can’t see any reason to believe in the stories of one specific religion over another except for the fact that it’s the over your parents taught you to believe in. The likelihood of Jesus being the actual son of god seems about as likely to me as Poseidon existing as god of the seas. People laugh at cults like Scientology and Happy Science for believing in aliens, but how are their beliefs any more far fetched? Just because they were made up recently?

I’d love to see Kratos take on some of the characters from the bible. Imagine having a boss fight with Jesus Christ and then performing a QTE where Kratos nails him to the cross while yelling some edgy one-liner like “time for you to die for our sins!”

That's kind of the point of faith. Accept that despite the probability that THIS is indeed God's word and path. The bible doesn't much support doubt...unless it's the right kind of doubt. If the whole point is to accept Christ, or Dharma, or dismiss frivolous attachments to Earth, halfassing it by saying "Maybe EVERYONE has a good point" isn't really getting you anywhere.
Also Cults tend to be called far fetched because they're novel and usually much shadier than general organized religions who can dismiss their crazy and corrupt as a small part of a larger faith. Meanwhile when the religion is like fifty people and the sole leader of all time seems like a con man or psycho. Of course people are going to paint the entirety of the religion by that.
