b-but it's just entertainment that only last me a few hours or days! WHY SHOULD I PAY?! IF I LIKE IT I WILL BUY IT! OR AT LEAST ADVERTISE IT TO PEOPLE THAT WILL BUY IT! IF THE GAME IS GOOD ON IT'S OWN IT WILL GET ENOUGH PEOPLE TO BUY IT! PIRATES WILL ALWAYS PIRATE!!!!

real devs just want people to play their game

Attached: hamtaroflop.gif (200x178, 11.54K)

this but unironically. if you produce something that isnt shit people will be willing to spend money on it.

I'm a game dev and I don't give a fuck if you steal my games. There, that's my licence to pirate. Now fuck off

Not my job to finance your self defeating choices. You want to make money? Don't try to do it on a medium with infinite duplication with 0 overhead.

Those "real" devs also only make games over the course of several years when they get free time away from their real profession.

Yes, I pirated your game, played for a couple of minutes and deleted it. What are you gonna do about it buddy?

>stealing
piracy is not theft, it's unauthorized file duplication

>Game made by 3 people in 7 months
I already know the game is shit without even playing it.

People who buy games know piracy exists. They don't just decide not to buy a game because they can get a free copy. Piracy does not harm sales. Only time it does hurt sales is when someone wants Sims 4 with all DLC then their friend messages them about a cracked version of the game.

no

kek based pirates making soĆboy devs cope since 1970

The game devs are 100% correct and morally in the right, but it won't stop me from doing it.

>Piracy does not harm sales.
Pirate mental gymnastics.
The reason Denuvo exists and costs so much is because piracy harms sales.

reading a comment like this would destroy me if i spent 1000s of hours working on something ahah

Pirates will always pirate. Pirates are a niche group. People that buy games will always buy games. Buyers don't get converted to pirates.

Theft as a concept has existed for several millennia, the US showing and making up some bullshit about IP for the corporate executives that paid for it isn't going to change the fact that piracy is still not theft.

Yes

this

Shame.
I worked for my money, I'm not just going to hand it on something I may not like.
Been pirating for almost twenty years do you think I'll change because people cry about it online?
The only people who don't pirate are those too stupid or weak in their convictions to do it themselves.

Yes, some third worlder downloading a game they would never buy because they simply cant afford it means a lost sale

People pirate TV shows, movies, music, porn, and artwork with no hesitation. But when it comes to videogames people get defensive.

seething

So an unemployed parasite doing parasite things got you... drink bleach nobody will miss you not even your mother if she didnt off herself yet for having you.

The "pirates don't spend on games" thing is old and busted, they tend to be hyperconsumers and might be torrenting FIFA at the same time they're dropping $1k on a mobile game. If you prevent them from pirating they buy in.

>yeah, very funny aint it.
now sure it is

Attached: heh.jpg (961x960, 113.43K)

I usually don't pirate because steam is so convenient, but I always pirate roms for emulation

Third worlders spending on video games is why mobile is now completely dominating the video game industry.

No it's there because of hypothetical sales.

Companies do a LOT of stupid shit in an effort to make imaginary money and wasting money is one of them.

>Three people have spent 7 months on this product
tf does this even mean? they just copied and pasted it, did it take them 7 months to figure out how to copy and paste?

>pirated Trials of Mana
>it's fucking great and faithful to SD3
>quit game, go on Steam and buy it
Wow it's almost like devs should stop half-assing and feeling entitled to a handout they don't deserve! Try making a decent game worth my money, eh?

>N64, dreamcast, psx, ps2, xbox games from 20 years ago not on store.
>cannot play game unlesa willing to spend 200 fucking dollars.
>find roms for free. Play for free. Enjoy good old games.

Yay pirates.

>tfw you get a shoddy arcade conversion for free with the short novel you bought

This guy some years ago replied in every video of his Amiga port of Final Fight justifying himself

Pirates exist since the 1980s?

>I worked for my money
>So an unemployed parasite
user...

Only dumb goys believe this

real devs need money to survive

Yes. Some of them even were praised by the original creators of the game years later.

Nah, SWIM used to pirate stuff all the time but stop because it was mildly inconvenient and what little he ever feels like downloading he generally doesn't mind paying for. Nothing wrong with file-sharing. Should the Greeks pay reparations to the Chinese for stealing silk worms? Nothing wrong with donating to people whose products you enjoy either though.

No dev has went bankrupt because of piracy

I don't want bitcoin miners and adwares killing my pc
