It's really daunting to see all the stuff people post online, especially with how often the hermit builds are passed around. The best advice I can give is to just do it, look up reference material, and get comfortable with building as a whole. You'll never feel connected with your world unless you build it up as an expression of yourself.
I used to a be a shit builder who lived in cobble boxes but I decided to commit to learning and now I'm decent.
