Trying to finally complete a run of SMT IV A. It's boring as fuck. I don't get it since I got all 3 route endings in the original SMT IV

I'm considering getting a n3ds xl just to play DS games at native res. I assume it scales them down to about the same size as a ds lite screen. I have a DSI XL, and it looks great, but I'd really like that swivel pad for movement.

help me decide, either pokemon flora sky or pokemon light platinum

Just bought a n2dsxl, it does feel a bit cheap ,especially the numpad, but its not too horrible

good thing about the 2ds xl is that its light as fuck

Only the 2ds can play anything in 2d in actual native res. Though ds games get so small on that screen that it's better to play fullscreen on it.

Redpill me on playing pokemon crystal on 3ds or emulating it on PC?

You just hold start or select when booting your DS game or flashcart. I have the smaller n3ds and it makes the DS games look gba micro tier. N3dsxl has a bigger screen and bigger pixels, so playing at native res would be about the same size as a regular DS.

The VC version includes the GS Ball event that was previously only available in Japan through a cell-phone link distribution service.
So you can get a legitimate Celebi this way, which can then be transferred across to the 3DS Pokémon titles via Pokémon Bank, or sent to Pokémon Home from there.

I never found the 3ds xl to be heavy.

for me it was starting to get annoying after an hour so when i was laying in bed. i dont have that problem since i upgraded to a 2ds xl.

Thinking of getting a 3ds so I can play the Ace Attorney games that haven’t been ported to other consoles. Are the 3ds games worth it or should I just get a DS to play Apollo justice and investigations?

I have a hacked 3DS from back when freeshop was around, but haven't used it in a while. Where do people get games from now? Any recs?

Has anyone been able to play MHXX on 3ds with custom translation? I've seen some videos with people running it with english patch on Citra but havent seen it on 3ds yet, can anyone confirm or deny? there were multiple translation projects going on at once from what I remember

also, side note, I wish I never learned about the IPS vs TN thing, the difference is incredible and it makes me stressed because usually I would've just gotten it immediatly and never given a thought but now that I know I feel like I'll have to search extensively for one otherwise I'm selling myself short on a better experience

the 3ds version has iron boots as an item and not as equipment which is the sole reason why the temple is shit

N64 water temple is still hardly an issue, stone temple in MM is just as bad and nobody ever talks about it.

You can play every single Ace Attorney game on a modded 3DS, by playing either DS or 3DS versions of the games, including Japan only releases with fan translations.

3ds.hacks.guide/ on how to hack the 3DS.
Then look up TwilightMenu++ for how to play DS games on a 3DS from the SD card.

No flashcarts or additional purchases necessary, except maybe a larger microSD card to hold more games.

There are 3DS versions of the six main Ace Attorney titles.
1 through 4 also have their DS versions, where 1 through 3 are based on the original GBA versions.
5 and 6 are made for the 3DS, but also have iOS versions available.

Ace Attorney Investigations 1 and 2 are DS games only. The second game has a fan translation and is considered to be far better than the first, it's a spinoff featuring Miles Edgeworth, Phoenix Wright's rival prosecutor.

Dai Gyakuten Saiban are spinoff titles set in the Meiji period of Japan, made for the 3DS. The first game has a full fan translation, the second game is in progress.

Finally, there is also Phoenix Wright vs Ace Attorney, which is half of each game basically. It's also worth playing.

I'd also be remiss if I neglected to mention Ghost Trick, a superb DS action puzzle game from the Shu Takumi, the main developer of the Ace Attorney series. It's often cited as one of the best DS games available.

Thank God we finally have one of these threads. I’ve been trying to finish Super Mario 3D Land but I just keep playing the same first few levels over and over. Also doing Pokemon Black. Really one of the best Pokémons imho.

You can say what you want about the games, but senran kagura 2 is actually kinda fun

I've heard Apocalypse wins out in gameplay but Vanilla has the edge in story and atmosphere.
You need the .cia file and an application like FBI to install it. As for where, iirc the sticky in homebrew general has sources.
