halo 2 campaign was the best in the series

An entire new audience got to play it with the MCC

also the funniest co-op campaign especially on legendary (as long as you're not playing with a total retard)

Everything besides the vehicle controls felt like a downgrade from ce.

The bigger issue is that Halo 2 on MCC is completely fucked up beyond repair so nobody wants to play it, try playing Project Cartographer and then go play MCC and you tell me how that ends up.

Marines sucked. Arbiter missions were mostly boring. Opening sequence was underwhelming and a shite version of pillar. BR plays and sounds like shit. No AR. No proper pistol. Brutes were bullet sponges. Scarab sequence was pretty fun but still not enough.

I could go on. Name me a level better than anything on CE from pillar to guilty spark. That’s right, there isn’t. Even the library is a much better experience than half the levels on 2. Jesus Christ you people are fucking morons.

Because people are retarded. Same deal with MGS2. Anybody online can say "durr I dont wanna play as gay alien. Where's Chief? I wanted to play as Chief, heheheh" regardless of a game's quality. Meanwhile HL2 was heralded as the absolute greatest single player fps of all time and now it's just known as a physics tech demo. When you're 10-15 years removed from hype and expectation you can just look at the game for what it is.

Arbiter is more of a character than Master Chief and it's a nightmare that 3 made him just a co-op buddy and didn't have the two of them interact and gradually get over their respective biases beyond the ending where Arby repeats "were it so easy" in a much more respective tone.
4 and 5 try to make Chief more of a character but there's so little to work with.

It’s an alright multiplayer shooter. It’s no masterpiece, but it’s not a piece of shit either. It’s pretty overhyped though.

idk about that, I can't think of a time when Halo 2's campaign wasn't widely praised. Halo 3's campaign was definitely criticized heavily though (and for good reason). Despite that, I think everyone agrees that Halo 3 is the best game in the series for the multiplayer component alone.

Mission design and level variety is objectively better in just about every way. You actually do interesting things in the levels, and cool moments happen in them too. The only cool scripted moment I can think of in CE is foehammer getting shot down, but moments like that happen in every level of 2.

Without the scarab section that level is utter garbage, which is sadly the best mission in the game.

Fun for like a week or two. Same shit every time you play it, gets boring fast, but the initial fun is a lot of fun.

Last time I played it, which was a loooooong time ago, the gunplay felt shitty, the aesthetic was embarrassing (it had that corporations appealing to zoomers aesthetic), and the only top tier strategy was building walls around you like a mad man. I think how fast people started to use this one and only "strategy" was the moment I quit the game.

only thing that comes to mind about this pic is what a missed opportunity the remaster was for CE. It's so rushed and obviously cheap. The only area I can say I liked was the interior of Truth and Rec.
