Thoughts?

that's cool
is there a sonic 1 decomp project or is it a blind port

sonic started with adventure.

Yes, the first Sonic games on Sega Genesis was surely an adventure. Thanks user for your insightful comment.

yeah
started to go to shit

Disassemblies for the Genesis games have been around since the mid-2000s, probably even earlier

by decomp i meant one of those fan projects to try and reverse engineer the source
disassembly is trivial but it only gives you the assembler code, something like this is what i'm talking about github.com/zeldaret/oot

How about porting the 60FPS taxman sonic games that are the best versions of classic Sonic games to PC?

Do people emulate android to play them or what?

Oh
In that case, as far as I know there's just this
github.com/JarrettBillingsley/DecompilingSonic1
which hasn't been updated since 2015

This doesn't feel right

>sonic 3 monitors
yuck!

looks like something completely custom made to me just with a ripped link model.

>Sonic 3 monitors
for what reason?

from the nesdev thread, what game is this?

what’s the deal with the screen crunch?

the power of corona

Neat. Some of the color/graphics changes are a little weird though (and the SNES could do it practically one-to-one, so I assume they're trying to "improve" things).

The Sonic disassemblies are commented, have meaningful variable names, and are split between code and data. It'd be like the dev had the original sources available.

the SNES resolution is smaller than the Genesis's
my guess is that the only other option would have been to redraw all of the assets from scratch

The SNES resolution is narrower than the Genesis one. You can't reasonably shrink the graphics to account for this either, because they're tied to an 8x8 tile grid on both machines.

It sure was an adventure.

I wonder if SA-1 capability would help even more with speed.
Looks like one of the Super Turrican games.

thats where the autism started

Huh, this is the same guy who started a Genesis port of Mega Man X1. Neat on both accounts.

Maybe for your zoomer ass

For me, it's StarFox on Genesis (all software rendering btw) youtube.com/watch?v=oHLc0AzD85g

they're cool

>Give Sonic the shifting camera people complained about because wah wah I can't see where I'm going
>Screen crunch
Wew. Anyways, need I guess, interesting to see SNES was able to handle the speed of Sonic 1 like this, although, the level design changes makes it seem like it was downplayed a little bit

Please just fuck off with your kind and stop making this fanbase look more childish and petty then it already is.
