Is Elder Scrolls 6 make or break for Bethesda?

If they don't change anything regarding mechanics and all that, TES6 will sell almost as well as Skyrim did. They literally can't fuck it up, they leaders ain't that incompetent. Hell, I'm pretty sure they'll actually try to up Skyrim since after Fallout 76 their reputation went to shit and they need to make it better, they cant hope to make tons of profit just because of their name though.

Yeah, it has no chance. It'll just be another RPG, it ain't a rival to TES and never will be. It may have better mechanics and story telling (doubt this part due to what we've seen from Obsidian recently) but it's world can't even hope to compare to what the world of TES is.

TES6 comes out after starfield which we also still don't know anything about. Unless there's an entire new engine in starfield I think we should not expect anything but the same jank

It's going to be the most bare bones, streamlined garbage imaginable. It will be lambasted by the fanbase, even the skyrim fans will hate it as it will essentially be more dumbed down then fallout 4. Yet despite all this it will be a financial success and will probably outdo Skyrim within the first week of release on sales alone. This is the sad reality.

Unless they plan on releasing their dev tools with documentation and they are using an incredibly moddable engine like Beth does it will be a shallow imitation of TES modding, which is likely to be reminiscent of the rest of the game as well.

So no. Nobody else does the whole first person open world fantasy RPG shit, so they get away with making absolutely abysmal games and people put up with them.

ES6 will be like Fallout 4. Complete dogshit, but still a best seller, and Bethesda will make at least 3 different versions of it over the years and resell it.

Our best hope for TES right now is that a decent government gets into power after the upcoming financial crisis and nationalizes bethesda.

if bethesda doesn't change they'll finna get BTFO by everyone that has improved the Open World scene since Skyrim.
Toddfield has the potential to be game-changing and Skyrim 2 just needs to improve what every Beth game fucks at.
If Fallout 4 is the standard for future Beth games then they'll all be shallow, over-marketed best sellers. People will buy in the hype, but it won't be a big cultural thing like Skyrim was back then

Thats being generous, probably more like 2025-2026 at least. Starfield is supposed to come first and we still no nothing about it.
