That's the entire point of the DMC series. It's never about just swinging your sword to get optimal damage and kill the enemies. It's all about doing the opposite of being efficient and doing crazy shit. DMC4 has the craziest movesets and tech out of all the DMC games, it epitomizes the main appeal of the series. 3 is my personal favorite due to nostalgia, but you're only downplaying 4 because you're zoomers that only played 5. Learn to be objective. DMC is about doing crazy flashy combos and 4 excels in that the most.

Not really. Dante not only lost speed, he also lost that wall run move and some other advanced shenanigans from 4. Not to mention 5 doesn't have any satisfying fights like Credo. I think people are too blinded by their hate for 4 that they deny its superiority for 5. DMC series is about combat and fights, 4 has better combat and fights than 5. Who cares if 4's level design was garbage, that applies to 5 too.

Don't bother user, they choose to put 5 on a pedestal due to hype or whatever and will just ignore and deflect criticism. It's pointless to try to argue. Though you can see the insecurity from their posts and how there's need to downplay 4 with comments like "at least it's not like in dmc4" when 5's criticized.

When webm in the OP would be posted in the past, people used to just get a laugh out of it. But now you have someone saying "wow this is so stupid", "why is he using infinite dt" or "he's cheating!". When did things go so wrong? I don't think this community can recover from DMC5 and will probably stay split like this. This is all reboots and capcom's fault as it led to fans lowering their standards.

Why does 5 need to be like this when you already have it available in 4? Do you not understand how retarded you sound? A new game is supposed to offer a new experience and that's exactly what DMC3, DMC4, and DMC5 offers. They play nothing alike while having similar moves. Hell you can even add Reboot here too because it offers a difference experience.

Disclaimer: DmC Reboot is a good action game. But it's a BAD DMC game. Don't quote me about Reboot's gameplay being inferior. I don't give a shit. I'm just stating that these four games play nothing alike.
