Too easy even for kirby standards, my noobtrash little sis coukd beat it even without other players
the base game is probably the shortest of the new super kirby bros games
Accurate, but it also means it became pretty decent once every update came out. However the main campaign remained fairly mediocre.
Bad level design, weak side modes, drip feed content. Pretty much everything except lore and the new playable characters
None of the nu-kirby games are all that different comparative to one another. They all feel like RtDL with a slightly different gimmick and a new coat of paint. Doesn't help that various boss fights are also reused numerous times with slight tweaks here and there.
way too easy
The format peaked with Robobot where the key gimmick wasn't just push button to watch cutscene clear away everything but an entirely different moveset
The updates with free DLC helped to make the game overall worth the money.
But the main campaign is still pretty mediocre and boring thanks to the focus on multiplayer and them making the maps piss easy in order to make it work more easily with the multiplayer.
Its fun to speedrun through it with the new modes while trying out all characters but at launch without that it was pretty fucking weak. Especially if you consider this just another modern Kirby without much change coming from Triple Deluxe and Robobot. At the end Robobot simply felt like a more competent and complete pack and the place where modern Kirby peaked. It really is time for HAL to do something new with Kirby.
60 fps menus but the actual gameplay is 30, what the fuck is up with tha
Eh. At best that's debatable. It's not individual elements but the package as a whole that makes them different. Like star allies feels so much weaker than Robobot despite sharing most mechanics
Kirby is a shitty series that should have been trashed by now and is kept alive purely because its creator has a very high position in the company.
Sakurai doesn't have anything to do with Kirby games anymore
Bait
The games focuses too much on allies.
To the detriment of everything.
Kirby Air Ride 2. With shitty netcode, they can make a Kirby Air Ride battle royale.
>Sakurai doesn't have anything to do with Kirby games anymore
Didn't say he does
ability combos didnt deliver and the level design was boring
rest of the game was good though
next game will be kirbys glorious return
It's interesting how similar the Robobot is in concept to the Animal Buddies. A mount that still uses the abilities you're familiar with, but in different, sometimes surprising ways.
Rushed out for the anniversary. After all the free updates it's one of my favorites to play because of HiAD campaign and Soul Melter EX. It has the most fun combat in the series and those two modes give you something with decent difficulty to flex it on. Dream Friends & the new abilities are a lot of fun to play with too.
Base game though? Holy shit it's so easy and barebones. Without the content they intended for the full game being added in for free it would've been one of the weakest games in the series.
partner gimmick is awful
game only supports artificial multiplayer
horrendous load times between every screen
30 fps
>City Trial except it's round-based and the worst-performing ~third of each round is culled until there's few enough players for a Final round
Would probably be pretty damn fun.
still waiting on that switch port
return to dreamland best kirby game still
Ngl this was such a fun game for me to play through. I hadn’t played a Kirby game since Super Star so this really gave me a ton of nostalgia.
Main campaign is boring, but the game's existence is worth it entirely because of the Dream Friends.
They're all a ton of fun to play, which makes it really hurt that it's probably a one-off thing.
frame rate, difficulty, limited combinations, mediocre level design, not interesting story.
Laughable compared to Return to Dreamland and Robobot.
Made for Big Borb Cock
30 fps. Makes the whole thing slow as fuck and just boring
Nintendo is too busy porting WiiU games otherwise we would've had Kid Icarus Uprising by now.
>main campaign is extremely underwhelming due to shit level design, heavily recycled content, reused concepts from previous games done worse (Cavios, but now there are loading screens)
>forced partners to proceed through levels
>most brain dead entry yet, you are literally showered with stars, food, and 1UPs at regular intervals, even locations gated off by partner switches
>some of the weakest subgames in the series (Chop Champs and Totally Not Megaton Punch)
>runs like absolute shit
>DLC adds plenty of fanservice, but it's all basically in a separate mode
>level design in this mode isn't that good either, bosses get new moves but at this point they've been reskinned at least twice
Oh, and the 3D part of the Void Termina fight is fucking boring.
