Maybe the next game could have you play a general who takes over bandit clan and trains the bandits into proper soldiers in order to justify making characters into any unit you want.

I keep trying to think of a better situation than what they've already accomplished in terms of narrative pushing the route mechanics. I really liked the Three Houses concept, you teaching one of 3 houses really helped build a natural adoration of the characters and sense of responsibility - it just needs better execution and a new coat of paint. Something like raising a group of bandits or choosing between warring gangs/mercenary groups would be a good jumping off point.

It desperately needs better graphics, art direction, and animation. I would take less character for a more realized story and polished aesthetic.
Don't get me wrong the 2D art is great. The 3D art is what looks like something from circa 2008

Would 100% rather have more defined and well structured characters than:
"I'm the lazy one!"
" I like girls! "
"I'm the one that likes muscles and food!"
If the S-Rank scene is "This is my trope: ____ and I love you!" than it's shitty end of story.
The only thing I agree with is the personalization of the crit attacks. War time Dimitri's in particular hits hard.

I'm hoping for Fire Emblem set in modern times. No Persona calendar or #FE idolshit.
I would love to see a modern hierarchy setting along with magic and dragons working in a typical FE plotline.
