>Brazilian dude.
Worse, Okinawan half-nigger, courtesy of US of A army stationed in Okinawa

buddy, Itchybun is the only good thing about this game, which says a lot about how fucking horrible this game is

Aren't Okinawan pretty tan? At least in works starring them.

Is it really that bad? It looks ridiculous, Lau Ka Long is somehow in the game for whatever reason.

No. It's just someone bitter that it doesn't copy the formula of all the rest of the Yakuza games this time.

I just wanted more fun beat'em-up combat. I like turn-based, but that's not why I play Yakuza. It's probably still full of even more unfun minigames, too.

After like 10 games of beat em up combat I think it's nice they're doing something different. I got burnt out on the series running through it after a couple of months.

That's because you made it a marathon. These games typically come out one every year/year and a half. There are almost no other good beat'em-ups that come out anymore, and now we're down another.

Is it true the game is grindy bullshit? Also fuck Sega for charging 120 maple bucks for the complete edition so I'll wait until next year.

wake me up when they make Judgement 2 with a playable Kaito.

apparently it's really easy to level up if you have to grind, and you have a ton of shit on the site you can do in these games in general, so this is really never an issue.

>Judgment 2 with playable Akiyama
I can only dream

Well that's good. How hard is it to unlock Amon? I never did, came close in Kiwami but there was one side story I couldn't activate and I really didn't want to do the club shit again in Kiwami 2.

he's behind an entire postgame dungeon, but i don't know if you have to do all the substories or whatever to unlock that or not.
i've only played the demo, so i don't know everything about the game.

I just wish the whole whackiness was toned down a tad bit. The other games had whacky shit but even Ichiban’s party or whatever the fuck seems ill fitting. And the guy is already old, I wish the toned down on how long he was in jail, he’s almost as old as Kiryu now.

Blame Sega needing to contrive an excuse as to why Ichiban never appeared in the Kiryu games despite being almost a Dragon.

they'll be fine if they stop setting the games in they're released.
they really need to at this point, since mainline entries have large gaps between them, as opposed to when they first startted.

>And the guy is already old, I wish the toned down on how long he was in jail, he’s almost as old as Kiryu now.
I know what you mean but I kind of disagree with this. A big theme of the series has been men who have lost their youth as a result of their lives in the Yakuza. Ichiban being in his 40s kind of makes sense as a Yakuza game.

Akiyama was a waste of character. Good VA, interesting character, but "he isnt yakuza, we cant use him guys we dont even know what the fuck we cant do with him other than being the cool uncle of everyone that makes cameos"

It's not that he's not Yakuza as it is that he's not a Dragon. Judgement starred a private detective and Sega kept stressing that he wasn't a Dragon which is why mortal wounds exist.

He's the antithesis to Kiryu. Kiryu tries the whole series to run away from his life as a Yakuza and tries to abandon his personal investment in the Tojo Clan but has to come to terms with the fact that he'll always be a Yakuza legend. Akiyama on the other hand is a non Yakuza but has a lot of personal investment into it, along with the fact that his personality is also sort of antithetical to Kiryu's.

i always thought it was because they targeted people in the 30's-40's age range.
it's also why the games are generally easy as fuck outside of some sidecontent, but even then the difficulty can just come down to bad design.
the series is in desperate need of having longer development time, since each game has a lot of flaws, but that'll never happen since they don't sell enough to warrent more dev time.

Well, it's still a waste of a possible protag be a Yakuza game or whatever.

It sucks how they turned Kaito into a jobber so quick. For just a little while the main character actually wasn't the best fighter for once.

>Dragon
I thought the tattoos were merely metaphorical. Didn't know there was some kind of lore based significance of the tattoos.

2/Kiwami 2 spells that out hard. Kiryu has an incomplete tattoo in 0 because he doesn't become a Dragon until later.

Kiryu's incomplete tattoo is still quite metaphorical. It's why he's so much more vulnerable in Y0, along with the fact that he's just straight up younger and less experienced.

I just want someone to give a thoughtful opinion about this game. I love all the Yakuza games, but it's been so long since I've actually had the patience to finish a turn-based RPG. How is the story? Doesn't it finally take place in a new city?

Yes but I'm told it's pretty bare bones. 8 will likely flesh it out.

you're not going to get one, since most people don't import these games.
i think i've seen one person actually talk about it ages ago, but they never said anything about the story at all.
just wait a few months.
there's a demo on the JP PSN store, so play it if you want an idea on how it plays.
