So, Death Stranding now works fine on Linux. Would you look at that! Getting a nice ~50 fps average on my aging i7-2600K + 16Gigs of DDR3 + GTX 1060 6gb, using mostly "High" pre-sets at 1080p. I started my transitioning from the MS Windows to the team penguin just last week. Been on W7 since 2011.
With the DX12 titles now running on Proton, there's no longer a single reason for me to even humor the thought of downgrading to W10 on my home desktop PC. I'll be keeping my W7 Ultimate installation next to the Mint for the time being, just in case. I'll prolly ditch the W10 on my craptop quite soon though; even with all the hacks, it's unbearable.
linxus users don't care about playing video games, all they care about is collecting video games that can work on their system.
Ayden Lee
is VKD3D-proton already working???
Nicholas Jackson
yeah op you're not using dlss on your 1060 ... oh wait..
Samuel Rodriguez
Too much work for a boring delivery trash simulator. Better avoid this shit
Brayden Murphy
Hope it makes you happy user
Tyler Morales
>too much work and how much work is it, user?
Joshua Diaz
>We did it Linuxtards! >You can do it too, here's a tutorial with 20 command lines, access to some weirdo's repository, oh and it might not even work in the end
is it the inferiority complex that always makes linux fags seeth and feel like they have a chip on their shoulder against all other os? or autism?
Nolan Cook
>50 fps >1080p On windows the game runs on 4K 120fps commie cuck
Jeremiah Reyes
The game fucking sucks.
Julian Green
steam comes preinstalled these days huh? windows ain't perfect, sorry to break it to you kid.
Jacob Cook
>command lines I literally just downloaded the latest custom Proton version I saw being mentioned on a random YT video few months back, and set it as default. Nothing to it.
That's because he's too busy watching the 2 hours of cutscenes before you can play the game. You could skip them of course but you won't know what the hell is going on.
Kevin Gray
>Hope it makes you happy user It sure does! I can finally share this game with the PC-only buddies of mine (we tend to do lots of "family sharing" to save dosh), and I can now finally take off the Microsoft's shackles for good. Can't wait to replay this babe on the V.Hard mode and check out the HL/Portal missions.
No extra effort until sound is broken with esync, videos aren't playing thanks to no native media foundation support, the configuration tool is broken due to missing .NET libraries, or something else breaks due to regressions in Proton.
Ethan Brown
probably crashes every 30 seconds
Ayden Kelly
>50 fps
do linuxtard really?
Isaac Jenkins
>2 hours of cutscenes before you can play the game Minor exaggeration, but yeah - DS is front loaded when it comes to cinematics. Afterwards, however, you can legit play the game for dozens of hours and not see a single cutscene.
That's roughly 50% faster than on PS4.
Jacob Torres
Enjoy, linuxbro.
Gabriel Ortiz
Gratz! Let me know when it becomes a 100% click and play shit. I don't want to deal with toubleshooting all the time.
Justin Brown
Did the entire prologue without a single hitch. Seems to work just fine.
post performance and specs on identical hardware running W10 then. I'll wait.
