Why shouldn't they? Today a kid will be up all night playing it with 3 of his friends trying to win just one match. Maybe he's streaming it and has people watching him play. He can walk into any store and find clothes of his favorite game to wear or toys to play with. He can go online and watch videos or talk to hundreds of other people about strategies and secrets in it.

I played HL2 and made use it's endless supply of mods and the only thing i'm nostalgic about is the multiplayer mods because they're all fucking dead and not even Zig Forums would help with reviving them. I'm also already nostalgic about fucking /tfg/ because it just died again and I know that it wont be coming back this time.
Fortnite, on the other hand, isn't dead. It's still far from being dead. It's still easily accessible and I'm sure a good hundred thousand people are playing it at any given time, so how the FUCK can you be nostalgic about a F2P game that's still heavily populated?
