I got a switch today, what're some good games for it?
Nintendo switch
None
what kind of games do you like?
I usually always recommend Splatoon 2 + Octo Expansion, it has something for everybody
Then pick up a meaty singleplayer game
>BOTW
>Odyssey
>XB1DE
>XB2
>Astral Chain
>Fire Emblem Three Houses
After that, you have some options depending on what you want.
If you have friends over a fair bit or a good internet connection, MK8D and Smash are a given.
I personally like ARMS, even though it's a bit content anemic in terms of single-player offerings.
Mario + Rabbids is a good XCom-like game, if you like those at all.
If you're really into old-school Zelda, there's Cadence of Hyrule.
If you like more chill life-sim games, Animal Crossing
I probably should have started with this, what do you like?
Thanks alot for all the great recommendations man. I typically play open world action adventure type stuff. Red dead redemption 2, GTA 5, Skyrim and the like
You will love BOTW.
botw is the best open world game
but i don't know why you would buy a switch if you didnt have games you wanted already
In that case, I'd recommend the following:
Astral Chain for sure, it's not as long as RDR2 or GTAV or Skyrim but it certainly has a decent combat system and a good feel for the handful of open zones you get to explore.
I'd also recommend Xenoblade 1. Its combat is more like a streamlined MMO, but its world design and story are pretty fantastic, definitely beating out the AAA open world games for my money.
If you're interested in a less traditional adventure game, check out Deadly Premonition 1 and 2. They're more of detective games but they're surprisingly content-full and kind of quirky in their own right
Yeah, I've heard it's really good. One thing though, I've never played any legend of Zelda games before, is the plot of the game going to be completely over my head?
You should play Breath of the wild, Dragon Quest XI, Xenoblades 2
Nah. Like all Zelda games, there's no mention or reference to the existence of other Zelda games or their events. It's pretty much self-contained.
I found it on clearance while out shopping and couldn't pass it up especially considering how it's been in such short supply
Mario odyssey and Fire Emblem Three Houses are the greatest gaming experiences I have had in years.
Lucky man.
Well there's a good number of ever-green games for you to burn through, so I'd use the ones mentioned in this thread as a source of inspiration.
BOTW is the obviously foundation for the entire system, right next to MK8D and Animal Crossing
Sounds perfect, I'll definitely check it out
Have fun with it user (:
As a piece of advice: take your time with it, don't feel the need to beeline for the final boss
Everyone's already mentioned the good 1st party exclusives. For multiplats and indies I really enjoy these on the Switch
>Rocket League
>Hollow Knight
>Celeste
>Golf Story
>Phoenix Wright Trilogy
>Puyo Puyo Tetris
>Enter the Gungeon
The online needs some more features but is almost worth it entirely for Tetris 99
I hope you enjoy it user
Pirated games
Astral Chain is probably the most original switch exclusive if you're looking for something new. A lot of fun too.
Come back to tell us what you think of the game, user.
Unironically Skyrim. I love the novelty of playing it in handheld
Good mention
Into the Breach is also great on handheld, as is Shovel Knight if you haven't played it yet
Does anyone know if Asphalt 9 is any good?
Isn't that the mobile/iOS racing game franchise?
Will do frens
Y-yes but I'm poor user
Tetris 99 is great if you’re willing to pay for online
Why the fuck do people buy systems and not have games already in mind?
You should already know what games you plan on getting prior to the purchase.
>switch
>on clearance
Well I wouldn't pick it up just based on the fact that I haven't known that many mobile games that translated well to console.
If you want a good racing game, I'd recommend Fast RMX
skyrim has a switch port, you know. just putting it out there.
