Pathfinder

Console release is today, and the PC update adding gamepad support and turn based mode is live. I've not seen any threads though. Anyone jumping back in or playing first time? I put about 30 hours into the game before and enjoyed it, but lost interest for whatever reason. Gonna give it another go now with a new character in turn based.

Is it fun?

I just don't get the draw of turn based. Tabletop D&D / Pathfinder is turn based, sure, but it does its best to try and approximate real-time combat. If it could be real time, it would. Why are people so keen on worsening the experience and moving backward?

Yes, very. Lots of comfy adventuring.
I actually quite liked the rtwp combat it originally had, but I like turn based too. I guess because it makes things a little less chaotic and easier to plan out your moves? I don't think either one is better than the other and I certainly don't think TB is some relic that 'worsens the experience'.

not really

>Pathfinder is turn based, sure, but it does its best to try and approximate real-time combat. If it could be real time, it would.
Asspulling at its best.

shit game even on PC, on console will likely be unplayable

I dont get the obsession with turn based.
Real time atleast gives it a chaotic aspect which require you to properly position or protect your mages before they get mauled, instead of having your sweet time to just steamroll every encounter with broken spells.

Oh bullshit. The amount of difficulty required in aiming spells in RTWP is so minor as to be irrelevant. The only "difficulty" RTWP has over Turn Based, is that it's far too tedious to pause and control every character in every battle, so you always end up just building your characters to be effective in auto-pilot, which isn't as optimal as building them for direct control.

And before you go saying "hurr, it's just as tedious to do it in Turn Based, but you're forced", then I challenge you to find even a single YouTube video of multiple battles in RTWP where the player even comes CLOSE to controlling their entire party throughout.

yo is the turn based update actually balanced?
I read it's as easy as clicking a button to change between Rtwc and TB but I feel like that would make every fight a slog since there's so many fights already or does it alter the amount of enemies/types of enemies like it does in Pillars of Eternity 2?

>Tabletop D&D / Pathfinder is turn based
>but it does its best to try and approximate real-time combat
then make your own goddamn real-time combat system you fucking idiot, why would you try and cram a turn-based combat system into a real-time game when you can just make an actual good real-time combat system

>it does its best to approximate real-time combat
Bruh what slowmo alternate reality do you live in where it takes six seconds to shank a guy with a knife

>20GB update
My lawd!

is it fully voice-acted or is it readingshit?

Leave. This isn’t the game for you

How hard would this game be for someone who just finished D:OS2? I heard Pathfinder is brutal.

My game glitched out some time after Mordekai's Tomb and kept spamming barbarian horde events until I couldn't deal with them anymore, even though I was advancing the story to end them.
Lost 100 hours and the will to ever replay it.

I mean, it's hard, and OS2 is babies first RPG, but that's what difficulty settings are for. Put it on Normal or Easy, don't just retry doing fights the same way over and over again if you die, and you'll be fine.

>80 hours played
>Never got past the bit once you get your kingdom

I just like re-rolling and trying out the different classes

I can't play this shit without mods. The kingdom management shit is too much of a clusterfuck.

Yeah

The Kingdom management is shitty. It's not fun.

I keep wanting to do a run where I romance the "Secret Love Interest" but I can never get through the several hours of necessary content without seducing one of the other love interests.

i have yet to play but i heard the trick is to fast track arcane level to 3 so that you can build teleports or something
either way it sounds like you two got filtered since kingdom management is the point of KINGMAKER

No, I still play the game, but I use mods to trivialize the kingdom management bullshit. Especially those bald hilltop events. I want to murder whoever designed that whole questline.

based
I like Kingmaker

literally me, I have a big issue progressing through mid-game in every game

I don't like the whole "Season of Bloom" story-line. The whole idea of it is retarded and stupid. It also makes fighting these interesting magical beasts into something trivial, because they're so common. The game overall tends to inflate the amount of combat encounters to unnecessary proportions. There's no way that the population of the stolen lands can grow fast enough with all the people we kill.

What's the most fun class for a CRPGlet?

i always find that people who like these types of games are pretty big losers

>he says as he posts on Zig Forums

scared potter?

user, I don't think you understand how Fey work. Most of the creatures you kill come back practically immediately.

you wish

Probably Warrior or Paladin. You don't have to know 6000 different systems to play them. Just put points in Strength and pick up the heavy weapon.

What if I'm a mage cuck?

crpglet here, im going with mostly single classing. as my main, probably just a paladin tank along with Valerie (companion tank). im worried about little dmg but idk we'll see.
