Now this is wrong. The dreamcast port of Legends is more or less identical gameplay wise to the ARCADE version of Dark Legacy. The console ports of Dark Legacy are about as different to the arcade version as the N64 and PS1 version of Legends were to the original arcade version, although maybe a little less since they didn't remove half the arcade levels in favor of completely different levels.

Some of us prefer the arcade versions, which are becoming much harder to track down, and mame's emulation leaves much to be desired...

Well, whatever. Although personally I'd label it a remake rather than a straight port of Legends because of how different the console ports of Dark Legacy are to the original arcade Legends. All the old stages were redesigned in some way, all the bosses had their AI changed, combat was redone... and that's not covering the new content.

Played this pretty recently with a friend emulated in PCSX2. Was a great experience and feel like I got everything out of it.

Is there another earlier version of this that is even remotely different (like levels), or should I skip to the PS2 sequel?
