>tfw it's as much of a let down as MGSV
Tfw it's as much of a let down as MGSV
Nah, no matter how you slice it DS feels like a complete package regardless of whether you liked it or not. Mgsv is almost quite literally 40% of a game copy pasted to appear complete
There's a lot of plot holes, both in the step by step mechanics of the world and in character development. Its not perfect and leaves very much to be desired.
Where's the crack?

He didn't say it was perfect, he said it felt complete. That's not the same fucking thing, you faggot.
Nowhere near as bad as MGS V.
This game actually has cutscenes and a story.
nah bro
I liked MGSV more than DS. DS didn't connect to me. It was depressing. The promise of answers to tough questions were not followed through on. I never sympathized with what was being done. The pacing was awful. Nobody made any connections to other players. Kojima is a hack surfing on a skilled team.
This is probably the dumbest game I have ever played. Lasted until around mid way of chapter 4. Was constantly laughing out loud at the game and could not take it seriously one bit. It's just so bad. I seriously do not get how people can like it.
>Lasted until around mid way of chapter 4.
lol
It was honestly worse
i laughed too, there certainly are parts of the game that are meant to not be taken seriously. you knew that though, right? or were you simply filtered?
He's claiming he stopped playing around midway through chapter 4, which is a five minute long boss fight. Do you really believe he actually played the game?
Yeah I'm not a dumbass, I was specifically referring to the Chiral Artist part. That was so cringe that the only think I could do was laugh and hope it would soon end. With her stupid Japanese accent (she probably didn't even know what she was saying), the knowledge she's some real friend of Kojima and just the sheer stupidity of carrying her on my back was too much for me.
Whatever fag, I mean chapter 3. I stopped when I unlocked the sticky gun.
It's a great, unique game.
A indie title made with a AAA budget. A game that tries something new, that tries to be unique and it is getting punished for not following the status quo.
"it's a walking sim"
People who use that argument clearly don't get the game, what is trying to do and why it is good. Sad really, Kojima tried to be creative, but DS sold so poorly, he is now forced to shit out more generic shooters for people too braindead to enjoy something that doesn't feature scripted action sequences.
No. Death Stranding actually having an ending makes it stand way above MGS V. It does prove that some of MGS Vs issues were not a result of the troubled production but of Kojima simply struggling with the open world format, but it is, by all means, still a much better and much more satisfying work.
He has himself to blame. He clearly had his finger in everything. Trust me, if you ever work management or software development, this will be completely transparent to you. He had a deadline to meet, and chose to piss around trying to do everything instead of getting a solid core and building on that.
Can you tell me what you liked about it?
It was super frustrating for me
>walk walk walk
>BT area
>sneak through it
>make delivery
>guess what, go back now
>same BT area
>sneak through it
>oh no Sam slipped on a rock
>runs into BT
>starts dragging me
>stuck on terrain and can't move
>reload
>sneak through same BT area AGAIN
>go back to original area
>guess what, do the same delivery AGAIN to the same area sneaking past the same BT's once more!
WOW SO FUN! The "combat" design is just frustrating, it serves no purpose, it's so easy anyone can do it. There is no reason to use a single resource ever because it's so easy (apart from repair spray). All it serves to do is hinder you. Traversing tough terrain is kinda fun because you need to think and plan somewhat but that's all this game can offer. The go from point A to point B to point A to point B to point C back to B drove me nuts, I got so tired of the same MULE and BT zones. Just could not give a shit.
My guess is, Kojima intentionally sabotaged MGSV.
Rumors say, he was informed konami was going to fire him, before GZ was shown for the first time.
That also affected PT development. According to Del Toro, the PT he saw first time, way before all that shit with Konami, was far different from the PT we ended up getting and the result of Kojima spite over Konami.
I believe if Kojima wanted, he would have finished MGSV, but he wanted to give a big fuck you to Konami and release a game that would leave an underwhelming game to the fans, a way to use Konami as a scapegoat for MGSV shortcomings
The enemy in DS, the obstacles, the main challenge is the terrain. The game is built around going through difficult terrain, finding ways to go through difficult terrain, difficult areas the fastest and safest way possible.
The bts, the human enemies, those are complements to the challenge, but not the main focus.
DS is a slow game that requires patience to be enjoyed.
It's just walking, that's isn't fun, just going from point A to point B"
It is just walking, all the game is built around that system, the physics, the game mechanics, ballancing yourself, paying attention to your stamina, not losing your grip, the type of ground you are walking on, how fast you are moving, your momentum. It is a walking sim in the way that it tries to realisticly
portray what walking is like in difficult terrain.
"i don't like it, it isn't fun, it isn't for me"
Not every game is for everyone. Not everything will pander to you. DS isn't for you, but just because you don't like, doesn't mean it is bad.
I don't like dungeon crawlers, but I will never imply Diablo 2 is a bad game. It's just not for me.
See I wouldn't mind it without the backtracking, I would love pushing further and further, I just can't enjoy doing the same stuff over and over again.

>its s-supposed ttto bbbe bad! you dnt understand!
Retards love movie like games.
is there a reward for getting all standard deliveries LoLoL?
mgsv and death stranding are good gameplay wise. but their stories are fucking retarded.
>tfw you have no taste
i am not a mgs fan, but death stranding was a huge dissapointment, despite the amount of focus on connections,i felt really disconnected with everything,the characters tried way too hard to be liked and it was always through a melodramatic cutscene about their sad backstory,
the surrogate father trope has been done to death, and bb story was even worse,there's no reason to like it other than "hes baby uwu, so cute", if anything i felt happy when they had to update him and i had one less restraint;
too much focus,"content"and time is given to how bts/enemies are dangerous yet they're barely a menace and are usually pitiful bullet sponges;
despite that, the "main challenge" is supposed to be the terrain, and even if i liked how the hiking and stamina works, saying its a challenge its laughable, backtracking is usual in story and prepper deliveries, so optimizing your first time going somewhere might be something of a challenge if you walk like a retard, but knowing how to walk and optimize travels from either other games or even real life, it means you might need to follow some prompts every now and then and youre done, i had to go out of my way to check if i took a safe, boring path or something, but other risky routes were often inefficient and unnecessary,sadly that means consequent deliveries will be even mindless than the first since the path is already optimized, playing the game well means you no longer have gameplay;
the social system seems nice and "wholesome" at first glance yeah,but then you realize how selfish and how childish it actually is, the map becomes filled with LIKE farming signs, or useless structures that abuse the algorithm for likes,its a social media alright, but even more of a circlejerk since any negative interaction is impossible;
from what i've seen and played of mgs saga, they felt like silly games with really serious/meaningful moments, death stranding its a serious game with really obnoxious, badly paced, ridiculous moments
So its a great game then?
