This, also weed

This too

it's great

It had a higher failure rate than the 360.

it could power guided missiles

The memory card fit comfortable into my asshole

cheapest DVD player at it's time

It only had games because of a total lack of competition a year after the console was out.

That's a myth. When the PS2 was released it was almost twice the price of the cheapest DVD players.

Tell me something special about its CPU/processors

It's still kick ass and has a modding scene that rivals the OG xbox.

Sony deliberately made it difficult to work with for the third parties in an attempt to ensure Sony first party titles would always have the best graphics.

It's older than most posters on Zig Forums

Horseshit. It's more like Nintendo did this with the N64 and their microcode that only very select developers had access to.

Bullshit, Sony used to respect it's 3rd party devs, their 1st parties weren't anywhere near as critical to their strategy as it is now.

I never said Nintendo didn't do the same thing at any point. Maybe Microsoft did too, though I've never seen any evidence of that. Doesn't change the fact Sony also engaged in this practice.

It was the last time a new set of consoles came out and pushed the evolution of the medium

You can listen to 50 Cent Get rich or die tryin' album while playing Gran turismo

How did it do that? The PS2 wasn't a fucking holodeck or something. It was just a normal game console that had more processing power than the previous generation did.

Last console that had actual exclusive GAMEs.

On one hand we have a company (Nintendo) that controls the microcode allowing special access to the hardware that most developers have to work around, unless they are in a privileged position. On the other, with Sony, they have hardware that is difficult to program for (initially, because it's new), but doesn't stop anyone from using the hardware to its full potential once mastered - these are not equivalent in the slightest. It would be stupid to prevent 3rd parties making games that don't wow the consumer over another game or even a competitor's console.

best console of the best generation with the best games

wasn't the failure rate to red ring of death on 360 was like 40-60%?

The beginning of the end of when gaming was fun and developers actually took a chance.

Sony had two different sets of devkits for the PS2. They had special advanced devkits which had powerful tools for optimizing your game for the hardware and then regular generic devkits. The special devkits were for Sony first party devs only. Everyone had to do shit the hard way.
