I originally created this image after Byleth was revealed to showcase literally how many dozens upon dozens of other characters I would've preferred and how many options there were instead of what we got.

There are pipedreams in there and characters I personally think are extremely unlikely even when compared to characters I personally wouldn't want. I try to avoid listing characters that I only have personal attachment to with nothing else like iconic status or characters that are too modern or have only become popular recently and are difficult to deduce their true influence. Otherwise Vaati, Krystal, Alm & Celica, Akira, Wonder Red, Marx, etc, would be on there.

I wanted to include them on the chart, but I couldn't find a decide enough image for them. Is there no official art of them aside from Blaster Master Zero? Obviously I want their iconic designs.

The prerequisite for any character getting into smash is to be relevant in Japan. Hence all the Fire Emblem characters.

I always wondered why there aren't more Sonic characters. Even Tails or Shadow could serve as some decent echo fighters. I would main the shit out of Knuckles or Eggman. Was it some copyright law bullshit?

I only want so many characters because I can imagine so many characters being fun to play as. Realistically I don't have anymore "Most Wanteds" because I asked for Banjo-Kazooie. Anything further is a bonus at this point. It's still fun to think about who could be in.
