Nioh 2

What would be the best time to start the DLC? I just finished every mission in NG, so I don't have any OP NG+ gear yet. Will I be fine or will I be severely underpowered like in Nioh 1? Also Nioh 2 thread.

can you finish main story in 100 hours?

Sure, I did every mission in 35 hours. NG atleast, I haven't done NG+ yet.

You don't need OP NG+ gear. The DLC for Nioh 2 is much better balanced for players who just beat the main story on NG than the DLC was for Nioh 1.

Which is not to say that the DLC of Nioh 1 is poorly balanced, it's just that the difficulty spike there was much bigger.

Well that's great to hear, thanks.

If you do end up finding the DLC difficult immediately after finishing the story on the base difficulty level (Dream of the Samurai), then one thing you can do is do some of the early missions of NG+ (Dream of the Strong) and get better gear and then go back to the DLC. The gear that you'll find at the start of NG+ will be much better than the gear you find at the end of NG.

Also, an out of context tip for the DLC: Give the big guy two arrows and ring the gong whenever assholes butt in.

Hmm alright, I'll try to find out what that means, thanks.

The only thigns that are out of sync with the difficulty are the blue online missions, which were patched in later and are supposed to be harder than regular missions. If you struggle with them it's not unusual.

Right bros, the splitstaff is busted. Not like meme busted, it's actually busted. Ridiculous multihits. Incredibly versitile moveset with many powerful moves that are also very safe to use. The L1+triangle high stance attack where you walk forwards slowly singing 150,000 times per second until you run out of stamina is so disgustingly strong, it puts the similar move used by the kusa and glaive to shame. I was a spearfag for a long time but never again.

Reminder that fem hiddys are noncanon coomer trash

ded game

this but ultrasonically

why doesn't reddit coom over this game like they do souls

reddit are normies so they cannot handle loot that matters, grinding and actual combat mechanics (unlike souls where you find a decent weapon early on and just grug and abuse rolls)

How are people hitting 2790-3000 attack on their weapon? 3 maxed attacking stats?

I have 2 with a 170+15 weapon and I'm a ways away from that

>can no longer burst counter Koji's ice sword in DotD
Fuck

180 +20 gear, star AA scaling, maybe one remodeled scaling instead of base weapon

I think they should have made Scroll drop rates higher as well as having (Orange) Inheritables and being Storeable
a couple more people would still be playing for full Scrolls

Scrolls feel like the beginning of something, there's way more they can do with them in the next two DLC's. I kinda hope scrolls get expanded to work for defiling as well, instead of the abyss again. The abyss was an ok concept but it didn't work out .

i just bought the game last week and as soon as i did threads started dying before reaching 200 replies

Looks like I have a ways to go. Star AA scaling sounds like it'll be a bitch to to get. I hate forging sometimes

None of that min-max bullshit is necessary.

Probably not but I like seeing big numbers. I'll wait until the PC release to go full hog though. Benzaiten even with my stats is enough for most DotD content I've done with no problems

lmao someone got buttblasted by Toshimitsu that he created a sperg thread

Benzaiten is probably going to be nerfed since there's 0 reason to use anything else.

I wouldn't mind if it got nerfed from about 60% to 50% but anything more will probably make me drop it

There's reasons to use other sets like Inari, but for a few weapons benzaiten just feels right. Using it with something like 1kat, 2kat, or tonfas just feels perfect. I'm not big on it for stuff like odachi or axe though

Don't even need to go that far.
No hardcore min/maxing is necessary. This is all made with shit I found simply going through DOTD. No savescumming, no glitch trading the sudama, just found gear. Not even crafted.

I'm 170 with +20. No AA Scaling (It only adds around 20 damage anyway, no point).
I have 2.8k almost 2.9k.

And I don't even have 99 in all three stats for my weapon because I have two different weapons with only 1 shared stat, so I have to spread myself pretty thin.
Here is how I did it;
>After you get a full inventory, check all your gloves to see which ones have inheritable Attack, lock it then put it in your bank. I managed to get 20 by the time I finished DOTD so they're not that rare.
>Inherit Attack on all armor.
>Get two sets of gear that add damage bonuses. I chose Tatenashi for the Weight Damage bonus and Bishamonten Grace for the STR bonus since it's the only stat both of my weapons share. The best way to do it is two Bishamonten Weapons, Two pieces of armor (I chose the helmet, which is a Coiled Snake Helmet since it adds increased damage against poisoned enemies) and the boots. The Pants, Chest and Gloves are Tatenashi (with Yasakani Magatama which you get given from a mission reward to reduce set bonus cost)
>Get a clan that adds a damage bonus. I chose Todo because Tatenashi weighs a tonne, and more Stamina = More health with Todo Clan so it's a win win.
>Make both my weapons scale from the same stat using remodeling (STR)
>Put Scaling from STR on both weapons as well using Tempering
>Get a guardian spirit that can handle three GOOD cores. I am using SEER SHA because it lets me use; 1. Yamanba (it gives a large damage buff. Although it only lasts 10 seconds, it's cheap) 2. Yatsu (it adds a damage buff to enemies that are poisoned, which I use, plus it does great Ki damage) and 3. Screaming Lady (forgot her name, but she does great Ki damage). All three added around 300 Damage.
I have 6k Health, almost 2.9k Atk.

>glitch trading the sudama
the what

>find a map that has a BIG (IMPORTANT) sudama really close to the beginning
>the cherry blossom viewing is a good one
>make sure you're on DOTD
>rush to it (use invis, sneak and running scroll to make it easy)
>drop accessory you want to reroll
>drop accessory you want to sacrifice
>pick up accessory he gives you back
>if it doesn't have the star effect you want, exit the game without saving, just go back to menu
>log back in
>you now have your accessory back so you can do it as many times as you want without having to farm accessories to constantly sacrifice
>when you get the star effect you want, use a branch out of the map and save it
I've seen people do this to get Starred Skill DMG on both of their accessories. Some have said it only took them thirty minutes to others claiming it took them two whole days.

accessories can roll damage?

>see Kuzuryu Grace set
>three piece bonus is Anima Bonus when you use water attacks
>6 piece is a DMG bonus based on how much Anima you have
>can now get 18 Anima
>Jellyfish Waifu Spirit gives you Anima Bonus when you Saturate Enemies and healing from using Water Attacks
>Oni Bi gives you more Saturated and Water Buffs
>Lesser Umi Bozu gives you more Anima Bonuses on Saturation
>Gyuki gives you a Melee DMG bonus VS Saturated Enemies
>reroll both trinkets to give you DMG VS Saturated Enemies
>use Surayasha and Genryu set bonuses for Anima and Amrita buffs
Has anyone tried this yet? I've always wanted to shit out Anima and Shiftling stuff.

They can temper DMG against poisoned or paralyzed enemies. They cannot roll anything else relating to raw dmg (ignoring elemental or DOTS) unless you get starred effects. Which are found through crafting or for accesories, found on the ground.

The Sudama "glitch" lets you straight up force the process much, much quicker.

How the fuck do you break human ki effectively with the Switchglaive. Any time I find a revenant with heavy armor in DOTD it's pretty much my death or I run away.

Is Inari any good? I keep seeing people saying it's god tier, but I don't get it. 20% Elemental Weapon damage? Isn't that only weapon buffs? What's so good about that?

>ded game
It isn't you're just late.
