Dues Ex Human Revolution

Damn, it's overpraised.
In some ways it's actually worse than Invisible War.

Best game ever made.

>It's a list of inconsequentially differing gameplay systems in a vacuum
The ending and bosses did suck though. Glad they sorted a lot of issues out in the directors cut

>muh poor downtrodden transhumanists! being persectued by those evil fascists
>adam jenkem here to save the day
>totally not a faggot marxist game

You're right, it's really overpraised. Shitty social justice storyline and cutscene combat. There's a reason it goes on steam sale for like 2 dollars every couple of weeks.

>inconsequentially differing
>gameplay vs cutscene
>more choice vs less choice

Mankind Divided is the only Deus Ex game that sucks

Yes.

In some ways you're a bigger faggot than the last OP

-It had actual melee combat.
-World was a bit reactive in IW. In human revolution you can go full arnold on police station and nobody cares.
-Plot in IW was weak but at least it didn't pretend it's a metaphor for inequality/gun rights/abortion/changes in the labour market/whatever. Human Revolution is insufferable when it throws 100 ideas to pretend it's about something and doesn't actually do anything with it. It's a game version of pretentious high school hipster twat.

yeah, I got real bored right after I went to the slums area? The I don't know if it's hub or what but it's right after Prague

IW had the disadvantage of coming after Deus Ex and HR had the advantage of coming after IW. That HR wasn't a total dumpster fire was enough for a lot of people. More still are just zoomers who never played any of the previous Deus Ex games, but insist on echoing the popular opinion in an effort to fit in.

deus ex is boomer trash, get over it

>In some ways
Yeah, a few. The rest still makes it a hundred times better. Fuck IW.
Shit taste.

20% of IW hate is a bad rep because of the catastrophic initial US release. Patches fixed it.
50% of IW hate - it's a sequel to the great Deus Ex.
And the last 30% is well deserved because console FPS suck by definition.

I liked the game but I just don't like how the artstyle not fitting for a prequel DE and the argument "Augumentaions are bad and must have and no, i'm not explaining why or how, they are bad"

Most of those problems are fixed in the Director's Cut + hardcore mod. And the last one is actually a good thing considering it's honest about it rather than falling short of the original in that regard like IW does. Light/Darkness stealth and climbing are not necessary for these games. Augs one is a lie.

>Most of those problems are fixed in the Director's Cut + hardcore mod
No, they aren't.
>And the last one is actually A Good Thing considering it's honest about it rather than falling short of the original in that regard like IW does.
What? IW endings are literally exactly like the original. Faction representative contacts you and gives you a task and you are free to side with them if you want.
>Light/Darkness stealth and climbing are not necessary for these games
Nothing is necessary. It's just objectively better.
>Augs one is a lie.
No, it's not. And the augmentation system in HR is absolute shit compared to IW. HR punishes nothing. Half the augs are absolutely useless hud modifications and you're given so many praxis kits you'll have virtually everything even remotely worthwhile unlocked a few hours into the game. There's no difference between end game characters because you'll have more than enough to get nearly everything. IW, by contrast, forces you to make actual decisions about what kind of character you are playing.

Melee combat is usually janky even in the best FPS action games, nevermind an arpg. You just can't replicate the physical sense and peripheral vision melee depends upon IRL, that's why most melee is TPS and not FPS, and vice versa.

It was a great and stylish decision to drop FPS melee, although the cutscene replacements are still quite clumsy-feeling and don't even require QTE inputs or any precision.

Full strength aug with the police baton in invisible war is one of the most satisfying melee weapons in all of video games. Satisfying mechanics aren't defined by some arbitrary standard of realism.

are there any mods that tighten up the insane gap between initiating a take down and the animation.

That's the shitties comparison I've ever seen. No one is ever going to pick Invisible War over Human Revolution because IW has melee, that's fucking stupid. Only things IW does better is the Deus Ex aesthetic and music.

And writing and gameplay and level designed. Yes, even split into tiny sections with hour long loading screens.

Invisible War's biggest problem is that it's a sequel and will be rated with sequel standards. It's a downgrade from the first game in every single way. That doesn't mean it's a bad game by its own merits, but it fails to fill the pants laid to it by Deus Ex 1.

Human Revolution has entire city blocks full of nice little detail just like the first game. Invisible War has cities that look more like shopping malls. If only they had called it Invisible War: a deus ex game, it would had been so much better because now it's just a disappointing Deus Ex 2.

City levels were just intermissions.
Where it matters, which is infiltrating an area occupied by hostiles, IW was much better.

The original deus ex had nice, open levels that allows you to see things from a distance and approach from a large variety of angles. Both IW and HR are just a series of corridors. One set of corridors being mostly interiors with the other being mostly exteriors doesn't change the fact that both are far more linear and claustrophobic than the original.

Will i like MD if i liked HR? Did both pacifist and lethal run on HR.

>an utopian

I did a ghost run of this game recently and it was amazing

Ok Zig Forums, serious question.
Are Human's Revolution and Mankind Divided good games on their own?
Consider I never played the riginal DE, so comparisons are kinda pointless.

yes

They're fine. If you want the cyberpunk atmosphere there isn't a lot more on offer. And they give you enough options that they feel more flexible and open than your typical FPS. Though on that side of things, I personally prefer Far Cry for freedom of approach and variety of weapons/tools.
