Its good.

It's great. Be ready for long cutscenes and some on-rails segments tho.

but how?

bump

I'd seriously recommend you just get a ps3 and the game disc and play it that way. Anyways though, it's great. It's unique in that in each act of the game you are in a different part of the world. Each act has unique gameplay elements that are introduced and fleshed out by the end of the act. You have access to an insane arsenal of weapons, like dozens of different guns that are totally customizable. The cutscenes are really long. If you can't watch a 45 minute+ cutscene, this game isn't for you. Basically this game has to take everything that happened in MGS1-3 and create an ending. It's insane to say the least, and extremely entertaining. People give it shit, but it holds a special place for me.

Shit gameplay and nonsensical but fun story, but I'd recommend it for a play. I attempted RPCS3 maybe a month ago and it didn't go so smoothly, you probably won't have better luck. Eventually I just got a free trial of PS Now for PS4 and played it.

i see, sounds like a lot of fun!

you can play mgs4 on pc? sweet

It's utter dogshit. Shit story, bloated full of cutscenes with cringey voice acting and when you do get to the gameplay, it's awful.

Play all other metal gear games except this one.

You need 8 threads to even try to emulate MGS4. And I really mean TRY because even on a 9900K it still has slowsdowns on many areas

The game is still very unstable on the emulator. Newer versions tend to break the game or lead to crashes. No idea what's the most stable version for the game.

One of the only games I have completed 4+ times.

Post yfw after the last rpcs3 patch you can hit stable 60 fps in a 30 fps console game

I'm glad MGS4 is resurging in popularity and is getting less of the "gameplay bad story bad" treatment than it did years ago.

only if you played MGS1, 2 and 3 and are still interested enough in the story. As a stand alone game is not worth it because nothing will make any sense and there's hardly any gameplay to carry it over. Like 85% of the game is cut-scenes. The ending alone it's over 1 hour cut-scene.

haha how awful i really hope a mentally unhinged hotty in a tight latex catsuit doesn't jump me and pin me to the ground like that haha

you know, aside from the latex suit, i used to have dreams when sleeping, about a girl lying on top of me like that and kissing me. when i woke up i felt very empty and sad because it's t he only physical contact i've had for 5 years.

mgs3 was good, but the mgs2 story is the best of them all. mgs1 is also really good graphics aside

mgs4 is absolutely worth playing and mandatory if you enjoy the series and played the other games up to that point, if only to see kojimas insane conclusion to everything. as far as the gameplay goes, its clear there was a lot of things either cut or rushed through development and not fleshed out. I have replayed all the mgs games many times and i always take my time to savor each screen and encounter to get the most out of it, but in mgs4 i find myself rushing through the game and trying to get to the cutscenes as fast as possible for some reason. the boss fights are pretty good for the most part and a couple are some of the best in the series, which makes the tedious and anoying parts (second and third chapters) that much more of a disappointment.

then develop that plugin for epsexy yourself

wat

>mandatory
I really love MGS4, at times even more than the first three, but it is not.
>if only to see kojimas insane conclusion to everything
agreed
it almost seems like a mockery at times, but with kino scenes like the ones in the graveyard, it seems this game is more than just "kojima hated everyone so he did this" which doesn't seem to be the case from a guy who wants to make video games his entire life.
Maybe it is Kojima struggling to let go of the franchise (or Konami not letting him), and pass it down to a next-gen
so maybe he wanted to end it on his own terms conclusively, even if that means removing a lot of the wonder that came from him leaving things open-ended in previous entries, so that if someone were to make new entries in the series, at least the "Solid Snake" era was wrapped up tight.
weak
you can criticize something even if you are unable to make it.

i would say the diarrea guy was sort of kojimas statement on the whole situation where he was tired of making sequals with the same tired memes and resurrecting the same characters but who knows? i think there was probably was lot of disillusionment with the industry and a lot of the same pressures from konami as when he was making MGS V so it was probably a mixture of things that mde it come out so weird.

Tried not being trans, faggot?

use the psnow free trial and enjoy old snake

Yeah but it's very hard to make that argument for either of these games (and oddly enough not Peace Walker) when these two have a lot of soul and love poured into them, tons of stupid details, lots of Kojima quirks and references to works/movies/books that he loves.
So maybe he didn't want to make it in the first place, which is likely, so instead of ruining this opportunity to make things right with the fanbase and even ruin his reputation and career, he made the most out of it.
Sadly that didn't work out for the fanbase in the case of MGS4 and V, I do love them very much though, and I respect Kojima's bold attempts to create something new, a new direction, a new twist, meta gameplay and story blends that he's infamous for - Psycho Mantis/S3 Plan/Sorrow/shooting the Boss/MGS4 bosses being literal caricatures of previous bosses/Venom being the avatar for the player because he did support the legend of Big Boss since MGS3 and PW - and so on to the series instead of making yet another MGS1 or MGS3
tl;dr he tried to have it both ways, but that led to misunderstood near-masterpieces.

pretty good gameplay, stupid but fun story, nice directing and va work, good music
its dumb but a fun ride

>graphics aside
the game legitimately still holds up today
although i'll admit i have a huge boner for that era of graphics
