It's over RTX bros

Im pretty sure they can make REAL LIFE graphic games but it would require 1 terabyte graphic card and there is the problem

>twitter screenshot

>Im pretty sure they can make REAL LIFE graphic games
why would you even want that just go out

based drooling retardposter

What did they mean by this?

Don't care still buying RTX 3090

clickbait should be a punishable offence

Sup Alan

For someone who only plays shit games like that, it's no wonder you find ray tracing useless

The absolute chad

>wow
>mtg
lmao I bet he's a fatfuck

Raybros we got to cocky......

You guys do realize they just let literally as ny brain dead cretin write these clickbait "articles" right. Then they make it look like it's posted by the company for credibility. Modern "journalism" is a scam/joke.

I mean, is he wrong? The only thing ray tracing has accomplished is distracting the market from the exorbitant prices of the GPUs it's featured on.

This is the guy that wrote the article and made the thread

Alan start making more white babys ffs. If I was full white and not 30% beaner I’d have 25 white children by now.

Brand new tech isnt magically amazing/good from the get go. Fuck off brainlet its promising for lighting in games it just needs time to fully mature.

51 hours is substantial for this fucking dork I hate journalists.

Blame Alan

It's two opinion articles, one taking one side and the other taking the other side. This is pretty common.

It got us dlss so I'm happy with it. Just wish it was a global option.

I thought Zig Forums would love it when people call things scams when they aren't scams, that's a Zig Forums tradition

Ray tracing isn't new tech. The only challenge is how much to compromise it so that it runs fast enough for real-time rendering. That's what you're hyping right now, a compromise.

God damn, she's STACKED bro

DLSS 3.0, soon.

You're too old to understand Zig Forums, Alan

Besides, Zig Forums is not one person

Hence why the 3090 is getting a coprocessor specifically for RT.

>Ray tracing isn't new tech.
Correct but you cant deny the improvements in lighting are massive compared to what was previously achievable.

you'd think their twitter post would state these are not the views of pc gamer or at least say (OPINION)
it comes off as whoever running their twitter is just letting everyone know how they feel, if you don't actually bother clicking the link, which most people won't

Twitter posting work is usually delegated to the lowest common denominator

>Ray-tracing
>Brand new tech
Since 70s ? Lol

Now this is autism

>should we put in a coprocessor for physics or anything else that can meaningfully improve games
>no, let's make reflections prettier

you expect me to click that link?

Realtime raytracing on consumer hardware.

RT has it's place in games, but reflections from offscreen sources is not as valuable as using it for GI and shadows.

Real life won't let you fly space ships, cast spells, time travel, fight dragons, or fall in love with a beautiful woman that has a genuinely nice and kind personality and won't stab you in the back.

Wrong. It's literally the same as anti-aliasing when it first came out. It took too much power, most didn't even use it. Then, years later, they developed various hybrid solutions for it with massively reduced performance implications and it came a de-facto part of all games. RTX is the same, and that article is just typical populistic garbage because contrarian whining sells.

RTX *now* is shit and pointless, that's true. But they're already looking into hybrid solutions where they combined basic dynamic lightmaps and RTX effects to create highly realistic lightings with a fraction of the cost. 5 years from now it'll be the norm in everything. And lighting is one of the most fundamental blockades dragging graphics down. Humans intuitively understand how lights work, and with proper RTX games will look far more realistic than they ever have before. We're going to see some amazing shit during this next generation of consoles as software learns to use RTX properly, and literally every professional knows it.

You think 3.0 will be locked to ampere?
I know that doesn't make much sense but it's Nvidia and they're cunts

GI, Shadows and most importantly ambient illumination
I can not stress this enough after playing around with it in various engines, you literally can not replicate that level of ambient color
Its just something magical about when a red item enters a relatively reflective room and suddenly there is ambient red light being reflected on a character

This is the only thing that is making me wait for the 3000 series. Really hoping they don't go retarded with pricing tho.

This, eventually ray tracing will be the norm, there are no downsides to it at all other than performance
It is a straight up upgrade in every way and for every kind of art direction
Ray tracing is objectively superior to traditional techniques of rasterization used in vidya

Is anyone surprised this is how the introduction of rtx went?
Before nvidia made it happen people thought it was totally impossible and some decade + away. So when they made it work at 300€ it's still super impressive but because its not free its also not going to be immediately adopted but the consumers who hold on to their gpu's for 3-4 years and devs have to prioritize based on what hardware is in the gamers hands right now.

I'd be pretty pissed to be honest. The current RTX will be an even bigger joke.

>games will look far more realistic than they ever have before
>and that's a good thing
Go fuck yourself, realism is the cancer killing video games.

>what is devils advocate

1080 chads rise up.

Oh look, it's another retard deliberately spreading misinformation by showing only the part that suits his narrative
And this is why America is fucked right now.

Well then why is it advertised so?

What became of Physx?

>tfw watch a lot of media about love existing
He's right you know

Out of everything he typed that's your takeaway you fucking idiot? Better lighting can also mean better artistic choices in games but sure pick out the whole realism bad argument. I almost envy how fucking retarded you are I wish I could go around spouting the stupid shit you do.
>create new tech
>dont advertise it
Are you fucking serious retard?

It was integrated into Nvidia's driver.

why would you need more than 1050 ti? just save money for the next gen stuff

Pushing graphics for realism usually results in significant benefits for stylized games.

No, it's Alan shilling his article

Where's the daily Geralt in a bathtub article where they suck the game's dick?

No one uses it because it's proprietary and it's a waste of time and money to implement something that any portion of the target platform cannot use. The same fate awaits RTX once Nvidia stops spending marketing dollars to incentivize its use.
