Why did early 00s reviewers hate Sega games so much?

Yeah, no. Shadow the Hedgehog got the scores it deserved.

>>a 6.5/10 to 7/10
I enjoyed this game too but it’s not a 7/10.
why?
>3 year olds who played this game when it came out are now old enough to post here
You're awful, Sonic.
wtf i'm shadow
It's a 5 /10 honestly, I enjoyed it because I like 3D sonic but it's not very good
hi Silver
really broken controllers
i noticed even as a child in 2005 that shadow is like uncontrollable in this game
fuck you boomer
You might be a retard. Go get checked out.
hes good, the game is bad
It’s no worse than Heroes or SA1/2.
liar, Sonic Adventure controls are clear and this game actually played good, i dont remember in Sonic Adventure when i started suddenly running and shadow always will bump into something random because the speed was not adjusted to the pressure of the button (idk why i can desribe it differently)
I remember playing even before i went to school with friend and noticing how in Westopolis you can just fall from some random spots because shadow was super fast
Definitely worse then sa1 or 2. I got all endings on this game years ago and played sa 1 and 2 for the first time a few months ago. They have good control, shadow doesn't. Doesn't mean I can't have fun.
also with that, Sonic Heroes played no better because its engine is similar to STH
OP may be a fag, but I think this game got more shit than it deserved.
Controls way worse than SA1 or 2. Shadow was built off of Heroes so that's pretty much correct. Although even then I'd rather have the shitty rocket accel from Heroes than the spin dash in Shadow since they basically gutted it from how it worked in SA1 and 2.
nah, its mediocre
NO SONIC IS SHIT
MARIO IS GOOD
WHEN WILL YOU FURFAGS ACCEPT THIS?
Exactly.
>not using the strafe button as a brake button for easier running control
I kinda wanna replay it because the OST is really good
Do you actually have to get all 10 endings for the true story?
yes
You do need to beat all the last bosses first but you can use the opportunity to try different level paths, if it's too much for you try doing it all in shorter gameplay bursts though
>needing to press a button to make the character slower
>not pressing buttons to make the character faster
Fuck the bomb finding stage with Knuckles
Fuck the ARK mission where you have to kill like 200 Fake Chaoses or heal 10 hidden scientists
iirc the rest of the levels were bretty gud
>sonic game where you have to stop and shoot things
what the fuck were they THINKING
>boomer
Cringe
You don’t have to, you can just homing attack.
Also people wanted Sonic to have a gun for years, just like the people who said Mario could get a shotgun powerup or Link an AK47
>DOOD WHAT IF SONIC BUT WITH GUNS!!!!!
>Why did early 00s reviewers hate Sega games so much?
I have a theory on this. Since SEGA left the console war, the journalists/industry needed to push up the remaining console manufacturers and push SEGA down as "irrelevant," so that it would seem like nothing had changed in the young medium and there wasn't a crisis. It would also be in the interests of the other console makers (so they could push SEGA around more easily), who the journalists would want to be in good relations with as they were the new powers that be.
Sunshine is actually good tho. Shadow is literally worse than Heroes.
