its actually hard and you have to actually be good at fast paced fps.
its not hard like dark souls where you can make a good game plan and win with a good strategy, you have to actually have the ability to think quick on your toes, have razor tight object permanence and be skilled with aiming and even movement on nightmare difficulty.
People think they are owed victory because they think theyre good.
theyre the same people who play support roles, theyre fucking dogshit and leech off of dogshit mechanics or their teammates, but when reality hits them they are incapable to recognize their own faults.

Its so fucking obvious, everyone knows this is the answer, but yet the relentless blaming on ammo mechanics or "required adhd" never ceases as the wheels of the endless coping turns.

Because it's not a straight up upgrade. Combat, movement, variety and I'd argue level design are all better than 2016 but atmosphere, plot and visuals are weaker. This makes Eternal an amazing sequel for some people and a disappointing one for others. Most agree it's a pretty great game tho, this hellhole just loves to exaggerate every debate into endless shitposting

Couldn't have said it better myself. I had lukewarm feelings towards 2016 but Eternal rocked my cock off. It's a shame they went off the rails with the story and atmosphere, but 2016 never game me the adrenaline rush that even early Eternal levels provided.

Because the story is a fucking travesty where they pander to the cringiest faggots every ten seconds with the whole doom slaya spam. Also went for the cartoony style so they can sell it to a wider audience. Music also sucks donkey dick. Only good thing about it is the combat.

I thought it was awesome, but it had some key issues:
>literally every single cutscene worsened my impression of the game, if you're thinking of playing it do yourself a favor and skip everything you can
>bossfights kinda suck, but that's true for mostly every FPS
>marauder was fun to fight, but I have to agree he breaks the flow of combat
>purple goo was a retarded idea
>can't use mouse wheel to scroll over multiple weapons
>swimming sections are really gay

They don't even force it, that's the funny thing. Switching it's just the efficient strat. Saying Eternal "forces a playstyle" Is like saying 2016 forces you to only use SS and Gauss because that's the dominant strat

Because they skipped the logical sequel to Doom 2016 which is mostly the some with some polish and a couple new enemies and weapons and jumped right to what devs usually do on the third game which is to shake up the formula with some new ideas. The thing is they lean into a lot of the things that made Doom 2016 different from the classics and then layer ideas on top of that so it frustrates people who saw shades of classic doom in 2016 and hoped that they could be brought more to the forefront so it polarizes the people who were okay with 2016's direction and those who were frustrated by it.

They need to fuck off with the shitty story already. Games don't need them and Doom was made around that concept.

2016 is a worse deigned and balanced game, eternal leans into the gimmicks way more but does it all better, neither are good games or even remotely reflect anything from the classic games

A single enemy is not a playstyle, user. And even then, I often kill Cacos the """ Wrong""' way just because I feel like it. It's not like there's a pop up warning that doesn't allow me to rocket cacos

I wanted more platforming, because they didn't go far enough, i mean the problem with the platforming is it's too boring. It's so lenient it's almost on autopilot like in Uncharted or something. The levels are sometimes fucked up, destroyed environments that you couldn't traverse normally, so it makes sense that it would be hard to platform some of them. Maybe you would have to launch yourself with the meathook off a cacodemon and turn around and recoil boost yourself. You don't have to do even a simple chain like that.
