Jason goes from an unlikeable dudebro to an unlikeable dudebro who is willing to fuck over his friends and family so he can bang a girl he just met, and there is no arc with Vaas. You get some "im so craaaazy" bullshit from him and then 4 hours in he's dead and you've still got 10 hours left in the story.

Personally they nailed the environment and setting, but told a pretty whacky story with questionable motives.

Its finally started to be good when you have to go across the map, while all the mercs chasing you. then it suddenly ends right there. This trash felt like a 10 hour tutorial tutorial for an actual game.

i like it because of the setting.
if you use the mod to make the game a lot harder and require more shit for crafting it's pretty good.
there's not nearly enough stormy weather in the game though, the rain makes it top comfy but is very rare

You are confusing Far Cry 4/5

Currently playing far cry 5, and in terms of content and pure gameplay it's better than far cry 3. But it's a monkey game, you just shoot stuff and mess around with the shit you were given. Which is the only way I am able to play games now, as a dopamine defficient monkey with no time. I just skip cut-scenes and shoot people.
In terms of story, it was the best out of any far cry, and pretty much set the trend for the games after. All they do now is just try to recreate the success Vaas had, which will never happen. Also really liked the main character progression.
Vaas was a huge missed opportunity desu.
