This right here. The first two are the only ones that even tried to focus on the idea of rogue animatronics in a children's party place at the dead of night and that's what made it genuinely unsettling, it felt real. I still feel like the first game is the only good one. 2 is too chaotic, 3 tried too hard to be creepy without realizing what made it creepy in the first place and everything afterward was just a vehicle to unnecessarily expand on the weird lore

I see what you mean. As a spin-off shitpost game that's not supposed to be a big finale unlike PS, I think it's pretty decent. But it's totally designed for the 50/20 challenge. It'd probably be a strong contender for best game in the series if it was like a fully realized game with multiple patterns for the animatronics, camera systems, unique maps, etc.
