Zig Forums is terrible but there isn't a single viable alternative for videogame discussion.

Old Fire Emblems were always barebones SRPG shit with only its story to carry it and permadeath to mask how basic bitch it is. This was fine in 1990, but even the next year the game was already eclipsed by Super Robot Wars, Bahamut series, and Langrisser.

Fucking Ogre Battle MotBQ came out in 1993 and humbled every FE game until like 2010.

The series is basically Langrisser Jr.

With the new Fire Emblems moving away from the old formula and taking a page from Suikoden, it's becoming something worth playing (if you ignore the terrible Fates). That's why I think it's funny as fuck when "Fire Emblem fans" rage so much about 3 Houses and Awakening. Your series was always pretty bad compared to its peers.

Pokemon has been the same game for over 20 years. Halo 3 was nothing special. Super Smash Bros is boring even while playing with friends. I don't care for any story in a video game that's not MGS. Just Cause 3 and Sleeping Dogs are better games than GTA. Game developers should get the death penalty for unskippable cutscenes and walking segments.

Metroid Fusion, while maybe not a great game, is a great example of furthering a narrative using gameplay rather than cutscenes, an art that's been overlooked by most modern games

Sonic games have never really been great, even if some of the older ones are mostly fun
