So you've installed? You need to find the .exe on your HDD where it installed, right-click on it, and click Properties. Then, click the Compatibility tab and switch the Compatibility Mode to Windows 2000.

Is it that it's not installing at all?

when i click install after running as admin it just disappears and then he setup will run in background on task

Windows 10 does not allow DRM protected games from modifying system files (see this article for more information). Given that Black and White was published by EA and released during The Great DRM Travesty of the 2000s, I had a hunch it had some sort of DRM on it. Turns out it does - it has SafeDisc, which is NOT supported in Windows 10. To get around this issue you have two options:

The legal, but hard way. If you have the original Black and White disc, you can allow SafeDisc drivers to run in Windows 10 by installing them and signing them yourself. However, SafeDisc has known vulnerabilities which is why Microsoft pulled support for it in the first place.

The shady, but easy way. You can get a no-cd fix (although I recommend patching Black and White to version 1.2 first), but as y'all probably know, no-cd fixes (aka cracks) are notoriously shady and virus/trojan prone. Not that I would ever encourage pirating a game that isn't available anywhere for digital download and contains DRM that prevents play on modern operating systems, but there is a website dedicated to making tools that help backup old games (gamecopyworld.com/games/index.php) that may prove helpful.

First option sounds too hard for being worth it. Anyway, as I understand from the thread you have problems even installing the damn thing. Try the following:
1: Install Black & White base game via Setup.exe with "Run as Administrator".
2: Install Patch 1.1, Patch 1.2, Patch 1.4 (from bwfiles.com/forum/index.php?topic=7916.0) all with "Run as Administrator".
3: Download and install all addons with "Run as Administrator".
4: Right Click runblack.exe, and under the Compatibility tab, check Run this program as an administrator and nothing else.
5: Copy the Audio folder from the CD to the game installation directory to fix issues with the music not playing.

ahhh I tried the compabtibilty but the reccomend service pack 3 did not work and so I finally tried windows 95/me

it finally went through the instal actions but then I got this

I told the system it didnt load properly even though the guide said to but its only cus this popped up and this isnt in the guide

I remember getting stuck on this game, throwing rocks at a village outside my influence range trying to get them to covert.
I never did finish it.

I do too I just bought the game again with the codes, but I am having trouble getting it running on windows 10 I was able to before with cracked version but yeah just giving me a hard time now

The trick is to start sacrificing children and throw fireballs instead. It's enormously easier to play as an evil God, though I liked to keep my creature good.

Thank you anons I was able to figure this is the cd code and was ble to find a way to input it through windows files in ereg folder. I may be able to figure this out myself but I still may get a roadbloack so please if any anons are interested to help Id love it!

I managed to run the game with no problems with administrator rights / win 95ME compatibility using the RIP version from myabandonware.com/game/black-white-a33#download

will I still need disk? The issue I had last time with the no cd and what amde me decide to pay the cd a year later was that I was not able to save my game
