Fighting games are artificially difficult. They would be much better if there weren't any needlessly strict timings for combos.
Fighting games are artificially difficult...
Why not play turn based games at that point?
Do you want the game to pause when someone gets hit or something because that doesn't sound very fun
git gud, nignog LMAO
No that'd make them boring
Soul calibur 4 was the best fighting game. If you disagree you're simply admitting you can't create your own combos.
Fighting games are already turn based except you lose your turn if you didn't grind 2000 hours beforehand.
That's already what's happening in any anime game. Just let the non-autists in on the fun too.
Just play Samurai Showdown
What makes the timing needless?
Just be honest...
>I'm a casual shitter and I need this game dumbed down because I don't enjoy losing all the time
No fighting game on the market right now has strict timings. SFV is the only link based that I can remember and there's no 1/2f links in that game.
>That's already what's happening in any anime game. Just let the non-autists in on the fun too.
no you actually want autists who cant adapt to be let in
the only fighting game on the market with remotely strict timing on the links is SFV and even then they're easy mode when compared to some of the links of the prior games
If execution barriers weren't so strict more people would be playing and people wouldn't have such an overwhelming advantage for mindlessly grinding inputs for 5000 hours in training mode. Nobody has time for that shit.
Fighting games won't exist in a decade if they don't get more people playing them.
Still too strict.
Yeah if by adapt you mean spend an insane amount of time learning combos. You can be a god at neutral but you're still gonna be at a disadvantage when the other guy's gonna take 50% of your health converting a poke into an epic combo.
I have the opposite problem. With equipment delay/connection or whatever I end up doing combos just slightly too fast and the rest of the buttons in the chain don't register. I can't tell if it's too loose or too tight.
Go play Fantasy Strike and tell me it's combo timing holding you back
>Still too strict.
isn't that your problem? Millions of people enjoy the game and its widely regarded as the easiest game to get into. What does that say about you?
Combos are not even the hard part of fighting games. They're not even necessary. Unless you consider a jumping kick into a low sweep to be a difficult combo.
Like user said. Play Samsho if you don't want any combos
The only thing difficult about fighting games nowadays is bothering to launch discord and having to deal with anime avatar trannies and zoomers.
unironically get good if not then fighting games arent for you so stop trying to make it for you
If it was any easier to execute you'd still complain because your fundamentals would be shit and competent players would still shit on you. Face it, you're looking for a shortcut for putting in effort and outplaying the other player, and you're not gonna find it. Even if they made a game to your exact specifications you'd grow bored in hours since your interest was superficial to begin with and everyone would only be left with another dead franchise to pander to disinterested people such as yourself.
this
this
>be me
>mutual friends place
>take turns loser pases the controller
>mkx and whatever soul caliber was out
>first time playing the games
>I played countless other fighting games growing up I know my fundamentals
>get shit on constantly
>I couldn’t do enough damage
>I could squeeze out a win or two if I’m lucky
>friend would get salty if that happened
>he would then bring out nightmare dressed as major glory
>sloppy play style
>duck block and dodge shit and guard break constantly
>he knew one good combo punish
>that’s all it took to be afraid of him
>closest I’d get to beating that fucking eagle was a round and maybe 2/3 thirds of his health
>It would usually end 0-2
he ruined dexters lab for me
I swear if I got the game and labbed for an hour I wouldve smoked his smug ass
This. I can't combo for shit in most fighting games but can make up for with other movement, reads, etc. You are just shit if you blame everything on combos.
Coms being hard isn't the problem, combos existing to begin with is
Give me neutral heavy games.
>tager/wald/abigail/16
>gord/groh/byak/noctis/jin
Truly non binary
If strict timings and combo length was the problem, GBVS would be overflowing with players rn
Street fighter exists, MK exists, there are so many neutral based fighters it's hard to count them all.
nigga
combos dont make you good
at all
learn fundamentals, learn to read your opponent, learn movement and spacing, learn defense, learn pokes, and THEN learn combos
It's just rock paper scissors, user.
I'm not trying to make it fun just for me, I'm trying to make it fun for a wider appeal in general and you can see fighting game devs trying to achieve this too because they know this genre is going extinct without major changes.
>If it was any easier to execute you'd still complain because your fundamentals would be shit
Projecting. I have fundamentals but I'll admit I don't have time nor patience to learn combos which is exactly the reason why I see the flaw of this genre so clearly. The only hurdle I need to jump is spend 5000 hours in training mode which anybody with a brain would recognize is a massive waste of time.
Yes, you can have fun with good fundies but you will always lose against someone equal to your skill level if they sank a retarded amount of time grinding combos.
>GRUG CAN'T PRESS BUTTON LIKE ZUG CAN
>GRUG MAD
>Yes, you can have fun with good fundies but you will always lose against someone equal to your skill level if they sank a retarded amount of time grinding combos.
No shit, that's why I mostly play against friends. I go against randos very occasionally and win more than I lose but when I lose I lose big. At least on fighting games without matchmaking you can remember the turbo spergs that combo grind or use scripts and avoid them. The only people I consistently lose against are frame perfect fags.
As long as you know how to use your character's tools combos aren't necessary, even for combo heavy people like pic related. Usually at most I can get a 25 hit with him in a corner which is baby tier.
>try fighting game
>try to spend some hours into single-player and training mode
>go online
>get my ass beat multiple time, combo to death while I'm just trying to get a single input
>only help I get is git gud
>decides to play other games, it's WASD, here now have fun
Also why the fuck only niggers and neet pedos seem to plays that genre
which game?
Skullgirls
Also i was playing on keyboard (I think people claims it influence things)
Play Fightcade. There are always other noobs joining in there.
>Skullgirls
I get reamed on that too, despite liking it a lot.
I never could play on it but some people say it's fine.
For a subreddit for hardcore gamers, Zig Forums sure loves to make excuses for being bad at games.
Keyboard is actually great for fighting games. You get more precise inputs out of it, while having the downside of being forced to more inputs in order to do a motion for example
Hitboxes are functionally the same as keyboards
