Best Playstation case design?

Best Playstation case design?

PS1 jewel cases are cool in a retro way, though pretty cheap.

PS2 case was garbage. They picked the worst possible plastic to use for fragile non scratch-resistant discs.

PS3 fat cases had cool cover art design, but the spines looked like ass. Redesign was a great improvement.

PS4 was kino. No bullshit on the spines, cool blue case, probably the best case design.

Then PS5 decided to lazily copy it and then fugly up the color scheme.

If you’re including every type of PlayStation case then where’s the bigass PS1 cases?

I like the double-cases from PS1. Just a block of goodness

Inconsistent case height is annoying as heck

PS1

thiss

The big BLACK jewel case was the sign of a good game. Only a confident dev would make a game large enough to ship on multiple PS1 discs.

I autistically liked the red “Greatest Hits” covers they made for the ps3

going with this anons answer

PS1 cases honestly. Squares will always look better than rectangles and a stack of PS1 games looks better compared to a stack of any other Playstation games.

They’re so similar to the regular jewel case why include them?

The PS1 cases are the classiest. PS2 and PS4 are clean and functional. PS3 is kinda ugly in both its iterations.

Probably the PS4 case. It's just the most aesthetically appealing one so far. The worst one is definitely the PS1 case, and I'm saying this as a 30 year old boomer who grew up with a PS1. The plastic is so fragile and I broke so many of these cases as a kid. Generally speaking the cases got better as they went along.

You just need to take better care of your games, I’ve never had a PS1 case crack or get damaged

>not giving the 4K machine black cases
Sony had ONE job

PS1 cases look good, but they break so easily, even if you handle them well

I’ve never had a single jewel case get damaged, all my Saturn and PS1 cases are just fine

The blue should have been white instead. That way it's white for games, black for movies. Piano aesthetics never go out of style and always look classy.

Sony cases have ALWAYS matched the media format that they sold their consoles on though (CD, DVD, blu-ray, blu-ray again).

They could've done it here too, especially since they skipped adding 4k blu rays to the PS4 Pro. Instead they decided to fag it all up.

>Sony cases have ALWAYS matched the media format that they sold their consoles on though
Sony consoles never charged for online until the PS4 either, things can change.

unironically the PS4

>PS2 case was garbage. They picked the worst possible plastic to use for fragile non scratch-resistant discs.
PAL cases were great
>PS4 was kino. No bullshit on the spines, cool blue case, probably the best case design.
God no. That massive blue strip on the top is ugly as fuck. Also no manuals with 99% of games.

>That massive blue strip on the top is ugly as fuck
I don't see the issue.

The japanese PSX ones that were just regular CD jewel cases

manual.
>insert disk
>ummm...play?
You don't need a lore book, art of book, support line #, tutorial with a game. The ONLY reason to support paper docs with games is because it limits day 0 patches because more shit had to be set in stone up front. But that will never happen because you fags ruined the game marketplace with a decade of "pre-orders".

PS1 case - best case. Small, resilient.

PS1>PS5>PS4>PS3>PS2

I remember thinking the blue PS4 cases were ugly as fuck compared to the PS3 ones but seeing them like this the clear ones haven't aged that well.

now that i think about it, it would be pretty kino if the PS5 cases were DVD sized again, to match how big the PS5 console is.

FPBP. PS5 covers are garbage honestly

Shut the fuck up.

PSP
I like the slim form, looks elegant
