Or you can buy gear that's nearly as good from the vendors at the end of each expansion except Shadowbringers, but the ShB main story throws gear at you anyways and dungeons give you at least one guaranteed new piece at the end now

I mean in a real world obviously. But here you have motherfuckers who can wield a sword as big as they are with the speed and force of bullets and cast spells that are like artillery fire so. .

Some autists can't get past the mixture of guns and swords in fantasy like this because gun > than sword. But when you're someone like Cloud Strife for example it makes sense to use this huge sharp metal object that can be far more damaging than bullets when its swung by someone who can move faster than bullets with the strength of a super hero.

Depends on the FC. Balmung has a penchant for being full of freaks and weirdos, but as long as the FC is fine and you avoid places like Ul'dah, it's fine. I'd get a feel for them before you commit too heavily to the server though.
If you want to get into raiding seriously and the FC already isn't geared towards that, Crystal in general is kinda got a shittier pool of raiders but it's still perfectly do-able if you're not garbage yourself.
Other than maybe the occasional shitter in 4-man roulettes being slightly more common, most the common content runs smoothly still.

It might be fine, I don't know these people. Apparently they are also a long established guild on GBF as well so take that as it is.
