The story for this game is genuinely fucking awful.
The pacing is bad. Period. Literally nothing happens for 3/4 of the story aside from you recruiting your party members.
The story leans FAR too hard on Slice of Life scenes. Its absolutely fucking ridiculous how awful the ratio of SoL to plot is. You literally get 3-5 SoL scenes for every plot progression. I don't need to see the gang fucking hang out every 3 days, its not comfy, Its just fucking boring
The villains are awful. Period. Natarame fails completely as a villain, he literally never suceeds or even challenges the protagonist. Adachi is also a chump, he does nothing the entire game, and when you find out he's the maatermind, the first thing he does is run from you. You then spend an hour chasing the pussy before he goes down in a piss easy boss fight. Then you get two generic JRPG godlike dietys that you have to beat, both of which come out of nowhere and have absolutely retarded motivations (just like Adachi, isn't that crazy?).
And the characters? All of them are on dmensional and bland aside from Dojima, Yosoke, Kanji, and Naoto. Every single character aside from them is a flanderization of a few specific traits Chie? Dude kung fu, justice, STEAK Rise? I'm not like all of the other idols (even though I act just like them). Senpai PLEASE let me suck you cock Adachi? He hates women and society. Does ir all for the lols Teddie: Who am I + shitty jokes that are never funny Yukiko? Lol what personality Marie? I'm an autistic tsundere Nanako? Innocent and wholesome loli with daddy issues I could keep going, but you already see my point... I can't believe retards were praising this story or even CLAIMING that this has a better story than Persona 5 or 3.
I already did, I'm assumsd I must be missing something, because Zig Forums has been sucking this game for almost a decade. But I'm not missing shit, this game is fucking awful, and I can't believe I wasted over 50 hours of my life on it waiting foe the story to pick up.

Persona 3 is an incredibly deep story that explores the concepts of mortality and death. Its full of twists, including, but not limited to death cults, betrayal, and the death of numerous characters in the cast. The atmosphere is incredible, and the game has the best party dynamics in the entire nupersona series. They actually feel like people, aith their own thoughys and goals completely independent of the protagonist. Yukari vastly eclipses Ann and Rise because of her family's backstory, her own insecurities, and her own goals. Junepi ISNT okay with you stealing all of the spotlight, he's human. He feels humilation, he feels indigination, and he has pride. He also has a social life outside of the peotagonist unlike Ryuji and Yosoke who only exist to suck off the protagonist. Junepi even haa a fucking girlfriend, which would never happen in 4, the self insert fest where every girl is yusexual.

My issue is Persona's 4s complete lack of stakes, its atrocious pacing, and its complete lack of compelling or even competent villain. Natarame. Shit? Adachi? Shit. Ameno? Shit. Izanami? Shit. Natarame? A literal retard that gets foiled at every step. Yeah, he was a tragic villain, but he was so incomptent, that its hilarious Adachi is a fucking loser that only acts in the first month of the game. His motivations are literally and unironically "im a bitter incel" who's been forced to work in a small town, how boring. When the cast finally realizes its him, he runs away. He runs away without challenging the cast ONCE. Ameno and Izanami come our of nowhere and have utterly retarded motivations.

i only came to agree about the pacing. I think it would go a long way if there was some logical consistency toward getting all the slinks maxed and doing all the side content. You get mostly two things to do per day, it's tedious af. It's unstructured. While a lot of the content is good, imo, the gameplay itself was a lot of unnecessary repetition and guesswork. There should have been greater emphasis on going into the tv world too, better rewards, slinks opporunties, etc, etc.

if you're wanting to 100% the game, then no. Start on normal and work on all of your character levels (combat) equally. That will go a long way to getting one of the hardest achievements out of the way.
if you don't give af about that then I would suggest easy or normal. I really didn't have much of a problem with normal but it can wreck you easy. the combat loop kinda lulls you into a false sense of security in a lot of ways. basic mobs can fuck you. If you just wanna power through it, yeah go ahead with very easy.
