Bump.
Do they even make these anymore? It could be at it's best with current gen car physics.
very nich genre
same energy
I like the Carmageddon remake. It's not bad
I see plenty of mario kart and CTR threads over the month
They've more or less died off as a subgenre and faded into the void of obscurity. An unfortunate fate for them, to be honest, but a lot of good things died back then.
>jaffe supposedly in talks with sony over involvement with the show
>sweet tooth getting a funko
I'm already worried.

What do you think of Destrution AllStars? I admit it looks like zoomer shit but it looks fun
It's basically twisted metal: fortnite but minus all the shit that people actually liked.
I never get out of that car with the 50 cals mounted on it in far cry 5
Keep a revolver and uzi as my sidearms too for precise aiming
You know I've been saying for years that twisted metal should just go past the car combat genre and become an open world title but then all the purists would just complain.
They did and no one gave a shit. I'm not sure what drivan-fags are into these days but it's not car combat. Pretty sure MS or Sony showed some Fortnite looking car game at some presentation and everyone already forgot about it.
What do you mean by combat games
>remember how great and varied the characters were
>let's make everyone a clown lol I'm sure they'll buy it right?
presentation killed this game. It was sacrilege
The ps3 Twisted Metal game was actually really good and doesn't get enough recognition
Those purists didn't even buy any related games like mad max, far cry 5, or play stuff like world of tanks
I'm convinced that 90% of twisted metal's fan base is just crack sipp boomers that don't even play vidya anymore, just MAN REMEMBER WHEN
I recently dusted off my old copy of TM black and those games were really fucking hard to play if you played as non op shit like the preacher, Darkside, etc not to mention the AI did not attack each other so maps like drive in on hard were a fucking hellhole
They're fun for a bit but they never really made it out of niche. This one was prob my favorite.
not that but did you ever get to touch Drawn to Death? It was "free" on PSN+.
David Jaffe has been fucking lost since God of War 1. Maybe 2.
Car combat as a genre died to make way for sandbox and console first person shooters
Because there weren’t really any good ones in the last decade.
Car games are being forgotten because everyone focuses on BR‘s (soon to be Fall guys rip offs) and Open world games. No one cares for the small games anymore that aren’t Forza or F1
I never liked them. I'm from EU if that matters.
forgot the vomit image
I have it but never played it. Premise sounded good but that art style was barf
That's pretty much every TM in a nutshell, the only difference is black ran at 60fps giving you less reaction time.
We are all into simulcade or full simulators
Most full on arcade games went to mobile like Asphalt
Simulcades come in 2 flavours, more and less arcady
Forza Horizon is on the more arcady side while Forza Motorsport and GT are on the less arcady side
Then you have full on simulators and several degrees of no fun simulation they have like A.Corsa, P. Cars, etc
It was originally a PSN title
Car combat is still very popular
Bruh it's never been very popular. Kart racers aren't the same as car combat.
What games are still active?
Forgot the pic
>iconic characters don't exist anymore, just carsonas
>Axle was preorder bonus (which Gamestop didn't give me)
>mulitplayer connectivity was a disaster
>like racing games, but always preferred car combat
I don't think most players really understood the depth that car combat can have. V8 had really great input moves that could be used defensively or offensively. Twisted Metal Black is still the king IMO, the shit just controls like a dream and is so fun to play. Fuck the drive in movie stage though, shit's busted.
No it isn't, it's pretty much dead now. Whatever titles that fall under the genre now are indieshit or unfinished vaporware.
Adding actual realistic physics just hurts the games. They play better when they are more arcade like like the non-989 Twisted Metals.
See
I have an Oculus Rift S and a controller, should I buy Dirt VR or something? I've heard racing in VR is great even if you don't have a proper setup.
If you think this is car combat you might legitimately have a mental disorder. Nothing to do with quality of the game it's just not the same at all.
Now that the dust has settled what in the literal FUCK was his problem?
Delete this.
Crazy 8 master race
Schizophrenia, literally. Heads-on touched on this a lot more
>everyone speaks about twisted metal but never mentions my boy
Becase the last twisted metal was shit.
It sure as hell ain't a soccer game. And it's not racing either.
>>>/vcc/
You think you have it rough?
It is a soccer game though. It's a soccer game where you use a car. Just cause it's not football simulator 2019 doesn't mean its not soccer.
The actual gameplay was the best in the series
Black did the same thing, mar- I mean minion explains that black is all in sweet tooth's head which makes every driver a different personality.
I can agree because most of TM isn't playable to me and I'm a boomer. Head On was like the first time I was like wow I can actually have fun.
At the rate of shit that's been going on, wouldn't be surprised if this is the next remake Activision makes
I opened this thread just to say this. You are dangerously based.
Too problematic now.
For me, it's Critical Depth.
