top notch level design and exploration, awful retarded combat so of course the one thing fromsoft and everyone else copying the formula focused on is the combat

I'm playing for the first time, not entirely a blind run because Time; im too old and tired to go full blind, just to die and redo the same steps but then knowing what's ahead of me so i can avoid whatever killed me.
I just look which area/boss is supposedly the "best order", and at the area i go on a killing spree until i kill the boss from that area, then i repeat this same process; i think i killed 9 bosses so far, being the great grey wolf syf the last one, killed him on my second attempt just using block and RB/R1.
but honestly im finding the game slow, tiring and repetitive, it just consist on rolling, block, weak attack, strong attack and that's it; for melee at least. so repetitive to the point where i had to take a break just to play it again weeks later but im already thinking on taking another break because im already bored again.
side note: i found DeS more fun, dinamic and fast pacing, enjoyed it more by far.
