nothing requires the newest gpu. always buy a couple generations behind.

My old card was several generations behind already.

then buy another one

Have any other hobbies? If not then you can do what most of Zig Forums does and just shitpost about vidya instead of playing them for a month.

Just buy a used one as a stopgap, and don't even bother with latest gen stuff unless you want to spend big.

get a fren to lend you their spare card and play some old ass indie games

Buy a card online then return it

2070 super will last you this entire next gen.

It was aging already so I was due for an upgrade anyway because in alot of games i couldnt get 60 fps anymore. Just sucks It dies right now.
>Have any other hobbies?
No.
What's a friend?

>my only options are buying something from the stone age or overpaying for something that isn't out yet

boy you sure are fucking retarded.

Yeah I could buy a 2070s but spending 600 bucks on something now that drops to a value of 200 in a month seems kind of a waste of money.

buy 2060 then

I mean it's always the good one

1660ti and 1080ti are still extremely viable

Why not just get the 3080? It's the same price as the 1080 ti when it got released.

what were you using before? just grab a 1060 or 1070

You don't need a new gpu for 1080p60fps, just get something like a used GTX1060 and you're set for at least a few years

Wasnt the 2080 100 bucks more than a 1080ti?
A 980ti
I was playing at 1440p 60 for 6 the last 5+ years

Play older games for a while on your iGPU while you wait.

just get like an 1070 ti or smth

>980 Ti
What the hell are you playing that cannot reach 60 FPS? I have one and it's still solid all around.

Shittily optimized ports do
and all ports nowadays are shittily optimized

>nothing requires the newest gpu

cyberpunk

implying someone would buy shitty ports

>buy an older generation card every generation for half price
but what if
>buy the newest generation card every other generation for full price

That's all you have on PC
unless you play 20 years old games in which case why the fuck are you building a gayman pc to begin with

just get an emulator and play old games the oldies have their charm

6 days you little cardlets.

Sounds like the perfect time to wait for the next gen consoles

Alot of modern games don't hold 60 fps anymore at 1440p

Can agree on the 1660ti, runs pretty much everything in 1080p.
I even use it for 4K, need to downscale the textures to about 70% though to get 60fps

>drops to a value of 200

I fucking wish

Buy on sale one generation behind.
Sell one generation behind.

It's a small cash payment to update your hardware rather than letting it age and selling for half price.

Why wouldnt it if a 3060 offers 2080s performance for 400? A 2070s will drop to 1660 tier at best.
