There's literally no chip that Switch's Tegra could be updated to - a successor from NVIDIA isn't being developed and you can't just use something else because you're throwing all the compatibility with software out of the window.

It makes zero sense for Nintendo to push for new hardware now. They should prepare themselves in case the Series X and PS5 change the situation but if nothing changes it would only make it worse for Nintendo to release a new system

We have insider confirmation that Nintendo is working on a successor to the Switch.
Making another hardware revision would take R&D time and money away from the new console, and they just won't do that.
Additionally, the Switch sells faster than they can build the devices. If they already can't keep up with demand, then they definitely can't keep up while producing a third model of the same system.
Anyone who looks at the logistics of a Pro for even a fucking minute would realize it can't happen. Not "won't", but "can't". It's impossible.
