Third Person
Stolen gameplay from AC/BamHam/Dead Space/Mass Effect
Put half the budget into 2 (dos) characters, 1 brave, 1 that needs protecting
The rest of the budget into huge setpieces for E3

They know that eventually Gamepass will collapse upon itself as devs begin to pull their games to make their own streaming service. Take-Two is already pulling their games. This already happened with TV and movies after Netflix and Hulu became successful. When the dust settles, they will finally release their own "Netflix for games" and it'll sell like gangbusters since it'll be the only one that feels like a complete package.

Apple is effectively killing console streaming to all Apple devices which means Xcloud will effectively die without enough subs to sustain it’s high spending.

What if Microsoft has good games that are also on gamepass? Flight sim is already a good example. It becomes good games vs good games included in gamepass. Sony can't just wait and assume MS will never make a good game. They have too many studios for that to happen.

They did this in 7th gen and got their ass handed to them whilst MS were putting out 90 rated exclusives after exclusive like halo 3, gears series, mass effect etc.

I would love to see Sony get slapped around a bit but let me be frank: even if MS wanted to play in the same league as Sony (and they doesn't seem to with their unfinished service games and aiming at 70 on metacritic with everything except Forza) does it look like they can?
Unless there is a huge shift towards co-op service games where MS has some advantage, Sony has at least 7 studios with an almost perfect record. They may work slow but anything they release is leading the industry for years. They have the best graphics and currently the best gameplay for the masses in a full package.
I have an Xbox and it doesn't matter how many small or washed up studios Microsoft buys when almost none of them is capable of AAA work. Especially when they need to shit out games ASAP for Game Pass.
Pretty much all their bigger studios are forced to make the same series forever or worse, converting those into service games. Microsoft desperately needed some strong single player, third person movie game to compete with the trends Sony setup but they didn't. If you remove all the small time games and their usual triumvirate you have the following:
Playground Games making hopefully not a game as service Fable game (they have nothing to show).
Rare making something that looks good but expected as game as service (they have nothing to show).
The Initiative filled with ex Sony talent existing (nobody knows they will be in a state of developing anything for years).
Ninja Theory making Hellblade which needs to grow up to God of War or it will be buried. It was nice once but it won't cut it again. And that would require enormous amount of growing up and talent from a small studio like they are. Oh almost forgot: they have nothing to show.

MS can't beat the Spiderman DLC at launch, why would we expect anything from them after 7 years of incompetence?

As someone with a PS4 and don't worship it, most of their games have been underwhelming. Bloodborne, Persona 5 and Ghost have been the only ones that hit the "good region" and I'm still not so sure about Persona.

Because of Game Pass (probably) Xbox is getting one of the best Touhou doujin/indie fangames next week (with a new Cirno battle not on the Steam version I might add). PS4 isn't getting it at all. I love it. Hope more indie Jap games find their way into here, and skip PlayStation versions for Sony kicking all the small indie and AA (they're too afraid to mess with the AAAs it seems) in the dick.
