It's the best and hugest Lego game ever, the biggest crossover of intellectual property in gaming history, and by far the best toys to life game.
Why does no one ever talk about it? It seems to have left no impact.

because we're not all shills like you
>toys to life
>level packs were $30
good concept but shit execution.
It was stupid overpriced and was way late to the market as the Skylanders toy/game trend was already dead. Never actually played it but picked up some of the more interesting model sets once they went on super clearance
NGL, twas the best Sonic game I ever played in a long time.
Not that that's a high bar to clear.
But these weren't crappy little statues, these were actual Lego, which is always expensive. I don't know why people suddenly objected to it.
These Lego games are always the same thing, if you played one you played them all.
>Lego
>expensive
Which 3rd world shithole do you live in?
Completely untrue, Lego City Undercover is completely unique and has an original story and is one of the best ones for it.
Do you actually buy Lego?
Agree, it even may be the best lego game
This game's properties were something else. In fact I'm going to post them.
Lord of the Rings
DC Comics
The Lego Movie
Scooby Doo
Wizard of Oz
The Simpsons
Ninjago
Doctor Who
Portal
Back to the Future
Midway Arcade
Ghostbusters, both original and 2016
Chima
Harry Potter
Mission Impossible
Adventure Time
The A Team
Fantastic Beasts
Jurassic Park
Sonic the Hedgehog
Lego Batman Movie
The Goonies
E.T.
Gremlins
Knight Rider
Teen Titans
Powerpuff Girls
Lego City
Beetlejuice
2001 A Space Odyssey
Plus various cameos from Hanna Barbera properties, Red Dwarf etc.
No one can tell me that isn't fucking cool. It deserves recognition for that alone.
It was pretty fun but expensive and never really finished as they cancelled it before they properly wrapped everything up. Didn't help a lot of it was fairly generic open world levels where you just explore and find stuff outside the main story. Definitely one of the better Toys to Life things as they worked great on their own and the game itself acknowledged that. Didn't help it released closer to the end of the fad making the entry cost stand out compared to all the others where it was constantly on sale. The fact it was cool and unusual actual LEGO sets wasn't enough to grab kids. Especially not with all the 30+ year old aimed franchises as the IPs.
I appreciated that half the characters were useless as someone else could do their skill + something else.
Marty mcfly was genuinely useless. Sonic removed the need for cars which was fun. Then Finn and Jake basically have half the skills in the game between them
>2001 A Space Odyssey
>Plus various cameos from Hanna Barbera properties, Red Dwarf etc.
I don't remember this stuff at all. Definitely didn't have any figures for them.
HAL 9000 appears in the Portal level.
Using the TARDIS in certain areas lets you visit the worlds of Red Dwarf, The Jetsons, Titanic, Flintstones, Star Trek and more.
I might have to dust off my copy and check that out again myself. I think I do recall the HAL thing now that you mention it though. Game was on some shit in terms of crossovers.
I liked Disney Infinity's gameplay better, especially 3.0 desu, but I did pick up a couple of Lego sets when they were on cleareance like the Sonic one. This shit was just way too fucking expensive to ever compete against Spyro and Infinity.
Sonic is one of the best value level packs, his campaign is like 2 hours long
It's a bit of a lower key thing to appreciate but as a fan of Lego City Undercover who was very upset to see them drop the series after two games I was really happy they got Chase and the rest of the cast back together for one more trip into that universe. I really loved those characters and we'll probably never have a proper sequel so I'm glad they put that (sizeable) world in there.
>Have all these rights
>don't do shit with them outside of lego dimensions
It's definitely one of the better value ones
id say portal is also one of the better ones, for portal fans anyway. its a new portal story, Merchant is back and the portal hub world is pretty cool.
It was really the only toys to life game that interested me, but I just didn't want to invest the money into it.
i probably would have bought most of it if i had some decent money at the time and now it's gone
To be fair, it literally only had to get past the title screen to be the best Sonic in years
>Overpriced.
Fucking annoying to move figures on some stupid board WHILE playing.
I gave up after 3 levels or so. I saw they included their shitty Lego Ninjago crap and just gave up. One of the worst Lego games I've played.
Dimensions could have been great if it had Disney shit like Star Wars or Marvel, besides Batman, LOTR, and Sonic when Wave 2 arrived I found it pretty boring that all the themes were shitty Warner Bros properties. I also found it very flattering that LEGO Jurassic World was just kinda there after the game before Dimensions was exactly just LEGO Jurassic Park (great game btw, just patch it before you play it or it's absolute shit).
A ton of them aren't WB though. Portal, Dr Who, BTTF...
Too bad. Level 4 is where it kicks off proper. You cheated yourself.
