Zig Forumsros, are we human?
SOMA
Lemme just ruin this thread before someone else does:
Coin toss
Coin toss is bullshit.
Cath is lying because you're dumb, it's copy/paste, not cut/paste
no ones lying
they are just retarded
No, Cath knows exactly what happens when you "transfer" consciousness. The ending proves it.
who the fuck is cath
Catherine Chun, the deuteragonist of the game.
no she's not lying, she's just not retarded and assumes that the autistic character, after 3 times explaining it to him and him having to kill his own copy would understand that
that ending is just weird, the guy kills himself at leaSt twice and he still dont get it
Anybody spooked by this? Found it tense, at best.
That's what I said, she knows you're retarded, so she pushes you along.
The first body switch though, she DID lie, or obscure the truth. Simon wasn't supposed to hear his old self, had he not he'd have gone forward none the wiser.
It fucked me up for weeks when I finished it. I've never had a game do that to me before. Its horror definitely comes more from the psychological side, though. The actual monsters themselves are pretty run-of-the-mill.
I think she's just coping, being reliant on a brain damaged retard gotta be stressful
The player is always in control of the Simon who, from his perspective, is the "winner". Every new copy of Simon has full memory of the previous events, like he did it all himself; a perceived continuity of conciousness that might make someone believe there *is* a chance to end up in the new body.
>copy/paste
>cut/paste
Same fucking thing. The original gets wiped after copying when you cut something.
Coin flip was the best way to trick brainlets
It was a unique experience. Walking around knowing you're a copy of your former self that you've just deactivated into nonexistence, which was in turn a copy of its true self long dead. The prologue was also very unique, I was truly lost at what was happening, thinking that Simon suddenly teleporting to some space station was a dream of his.
if the person is retarded and delusional
Or are we dancers?
no, the copy is you but you are not the copy.
To the new Simon it seems like he *just* pressed the button to transfer his conciousness. And he did have both brain damage and severe stress going on.
This, the game tricks you into believing you're controlling the same Simon the whole time, while there are several of them throughout the game. You can find a record of the true Simon dying a hundred years ago, it was fucked up. The whole thin with the legacy scans was fucked up. Just numerous copies of some random dude that all think they are him.
so whats the fucking point of the satelite anyway?
its orbit just gonna decay over couple hundred years and thats it
the ai will repopulate the whole planet at that point
Brainlet-take.
Copy/paste = One Simon left in the Abyss, a COPY, who from his perspective IS the same Simon is on the ARK
Cut/paste = Simon would be on the ARK and the body he used to get to the Abyss would be an empty husk. This is what Simon thought would happen because brainlet.
they destroyed the WAU and any chance of it eventually evolving to rebuild society, even though without it they wouldn't even be alive and the failed experiments were just byproducts.
half of Zig Forums spout such basic takes that they could probably be uploaded onto a free keyring USB memory stick and fired into space.
you can choose not to kill wau
thats the real choice
Deactivation of WAU is optional.
You destroyed WAU.
I let it live because I thought it was the best bet for mankind. Lmao at the dev that didn't think wau would be seen as humanity last hope.
>amnesia for pseuds
This thread can attest for it
the game is literally about retards coping
a lot of players parallel those
It's probably left neutral for you to figure it out yourself.
it was? shit. I thought it was mandatory and that was really stupid.
new zoomer word?
fuck language
unplug amy
unplug robin
you motherfucker
real problem in the game is how many people end up killing the WAU because they think they have to to proceed. the choice should have been more clear in game.
>these thread always gets millions of replies with philosophical and theory faggots
>can't just accept that there is no coin toss and it's just a simple copy and paste of consciousness
>the game just shifts your perspective to whichever Simon progresses the plot, you're not playing as the same one the whole way through
