I remmember seeing a "modern russia simulator" that was going around like a couple years ago.
It's a low poly walking game which is set in a nighttime post soviet block where you have to go around solving puzzles and interacting with the environment.
It has no npcs so its just you walking, might have to google around if you want to find it

Nier (the first game) starts like this. I actually always disliked how you never got to play more of that section, or more of that kind of world. I really really wanted to play more of that setting in game as either a bigger section at the end of the game or a longer prologue.

It's peak comfy, every apartment is decorated in a unique and different way, the exterior might be the same, but the interior is different with every persons apartment
