ITS OVER BROS

ITS OVER BROS

ITS FUCKING OVER

Why is it over?

Forza exists, why would I play project cars?

/thread

at least I still have f1 2020 to fall back on

who the fuck cares, Zig Forums don't even play games

>Zig Forums talking about racing games
it's like Grid 2 and Driveclub all over again

But yes, the game is garbage

Driveclub is mediocre and I don't understand where its acclaim comes from.

It wasn't about the acclaim. The only reason why Driveclub was talked about on Zig Forums was because it was a shitposting fuel from the "ps4 has no games" era

Only racing game I play is Forza Horizon because driving around is soothing

No surprise here, quick crash grab, throwing out all the simulation quality that differentiated project cars in the simcade domain.

Why the fuck did they make a 3rd? Didn't all of them bomb before? I also remember them pulling some twitter shit with the first to bait wiiu people into advertising a game bamco never wanted to port.

I payed 75 bucks for this shit.

the only good racing sim to come out this year

Is project cars even trying to be a simulator?

Then fuck your commentary on anything relating to the genre. You don't play Burnout, you don't play NFS, you don't play DiRT, you don't play Split/Second, you don't play Rush, you don't play Ridge Racer...

project cars was always shit
i'm surprise people are catching up only now

I dunno, is it online only, faggy GaaS shit like Dirt Rally 2 and Grid 2019?
Pretty much, but it falls on the sim uncanny valley where it's not quite realistic for the hardcore sim enthusiast but also too hardcore for the casual arcade players.

Ah so its an alright game but it has no audience?

How is GRID 2019 a GaaS game? I don't think they've updated the game in months.

There you go. I'm disappointed with PC3 but I can't say I was surprised with its more casual direction
It pretty much follows the same format as Dirt Rally 2: make the base game barebones, but sell the actual contents as DLCs and promote the update as "seasons"
>I don't think they've updated the game in months.
Because the game flopped. During the launch it has less than 1k players on steam

>simufags always shit on Project CARS for being "too arcadey"
>they "jump the shark" and actually gear their game more toward simcade and less pretend sim
>"No, why have you made this game more of a simcade and not a next installment of the series I'll snub over while telling people to rather play assetto corsa or iracing ?"

Honestly, I quite like what I've seen of Project Cars 3 so far. It looks like a nice alternative to Forza Motorsport on PC, with more fleshed out single player content than FM7. Not that it's much of an achievement.

>still no new Project Gotham
>Project Cars is boring as shit

the closest thing we got was DriveClub

>Because the game flopped.

Yeah, because the racing is shit. But I never saw a roadmap for the game or anything like that. It had a season pass, I believe, but I've just come to expect that (and, frankly, I think racing games can benefit from a constant expansion since course variety is helpful to the longevity of the game's worth, so long as the actual underlying racing is decent).

The fact that Grid got to season 2 itself is a miracle

that's not what uncanny valley means you stupid shit

>I dunno, is it online only, faggy GaaS shit like Dirt Rally 2 and Grid 2019?

no

Shill me on Dirt Rally bros, i bought it in pack a while ago and played around 4 hrs then deleted it, the realistic drifting, accelerating, weather impact, and terrain impact completely filtered me and the best i got was 4th place, or is that literally the appeal of Dirt Rally?

I think a GaaS game has to be promoted as such from the outset. If you make a game with a season pass then make another season pass later that wasn't specified at the start, it's not a GaaS because the evaluation of reinvesting in more content was made with the determination from that first outing. Like Tekken 7 could have just stopped at Season 1 but it hit the ground with a strong start so BanNam gave the greenlight somewhere along the line to resume development on more content.

SF5, on the other hand, was promoted right from the get-go of getting a support structure out to 2020 so, presumably, they made some formulation of what that was going to entail (and, indeed, Seth dropped in Feburary of this year, which is four years to the month of SF5's original launch). Season 5 doesn't seem like it was in the cards from the jump but everything through Season 4 at least had some plan to happen (even if things like Arcade Mode and maybe the V-System updates weren't necessarily baked into the original vision).

I would say MvC:I might be an example of a failed GaaS but it's hard to tell (since they never laid out any specific runway for the game, just that there would be some DLC forthcoming in a season pass).

It is. Because it tries to be realistic but it went to the territory where it's not "realistic" enough that you'll starting to see many of the imperfections, like how stupid the AIs are for example. Everyone PC2 detractors will always says how it isn't as realistic as AC or rfactor or anything really.
Oh shit, that's good to know. I'm still unwilling to give Codemonkeys my money however.

PGR died when Bizare Creation decided to burn the studio down

who /freef12018racingwithBRs/ here?

>the realistic drifting, accelerating, weather impact, and terrain impact completely filtered me and the best i got was 4th place, or is that literally the appeal of Dirt Rally?
Absolutely. There's a reason why it's unironically called "Dark Souls of rally games". It's hard, but not impossible to learn and git gud. Once you git gud it will give you actual satisfaction for getting better, up until you get to the next tier and getting shat on again. It's fun.

But if it's unappealing to you, you can play Dirt 2 and 3 instead. Those are more casual but equally good games.

>non-arcade racing game
why should I care

The absolute salt that sim pissbabies are spreading with this game is absolutely gold. Go play iRacing and shut the fuck up.

>itt: an iRacing bro

I thought they just got shuttered after Blood Stone came out and that was the end of it.

They made Blur before that and people seem to enjoy that game.

Blur is underrated as hell. It appears like a boring mario kart with real cars at first but it turns out really good.
