Opinion on Guild Wars 2?
Opinion on Guild Wars 2?
Solid MMO ruined by tranies
Never at any point in its existence was it as good as Guild Wars 1
This/
>sad violin music in the distance
It's not GW1
Story is fuck awful alos
Im still mad.
It's alright
itt people trying to say guild wars 1 was a good game, lmao
poor peoples mmo while the rest played actual good mmorpgs
not ffxiv
>play any MMO
>it's an endless grind
>picked up GW
>no grind at all unless you wanna look nice
Guild Wars had the perfect concept. A lot of solo content but you could still do it with it other people. Despite the sheer amount of skills PvP was pretty good fuck touchers btw. No other game had the same amount of solid gameplay. Some of the changes in GW2 would have been great in GW1 but everything else was just garbage. Imagine GW1 with the slightly more dynamic gameplay of GW2.
Second Life is not an MMO
The only good thing is femsuras. Otherwise it is objectively an inferior game to GW1
forgot pic
I like how most fan art of them is a cope, try harding to make them look appealing.
Literally almost every fanart ever is making something look more appealing. Almost ever coomer art poster on Zig Forums is non-canon body.
The only real MMORPG still on the market
Shame it's being directed so badly, actual game content comes out super slowly because so much resources are being directed at story and cash shop skins instead of making new raids or fractals
GW2 PvE content still blows every other MMORPGs content out of the water, but you do the same thing for several years and it gets boring, you know?
repost
>lets swap the gameplay from GW's unique system that leads to highly tactical team play
>its ok as we'll take our time to make the world so rich and full with things to do
>oh shit korean overlords want it released NOW
>hire a bunch of hacks so we can bang it out
>cut loads to meet deadline
>hack do sloppy work but just like the missing stuff we can fix it later
>let's leave notes in the game to players that we will add the cut stuff later and we should talk on the forums that we will address the problems of the hacks we hired, like the lore unfriendly dialogue
>korean overlords want a cash shop
>ok add some minor convenience garbage and a few skins
>now time to fi- oh wait korean overlords want new stuff made
>ok living story
>oh shit new hires think they are people
>oh shit korean overlords value new hires more since they are payed less
>oh shit korean overlords like the generic mmo garbage the new hires have come up with
>oh shit old staff can't deal with this bullshit and are leaving
>oh shit new hires out number old staff
>what the fuck are all these skins
>what the fuck is this bad writing
>what the fuck are these bad story points
>what the fuck is all this horse shit
>oh shit more old staff are tired of this shit and left
>oh shit the hacks are nearly unchallenged now
>oh shit the hacks are listening to people who like generic mmos and are making the game a broken holy trinity fuck fest
>oh shit korean overlords fired half the studio and we lost some more old staff
>god fucking damn it now the hacks are basically unchallenged
>yeah fuck it all add mounts, like I give a fuck anymore
>who gives a shit about the writing or story?
>not me, so go ahead and add all the garbage you want
>humans blaspheming the god of the fire of human spirit (which means he governs any undertaking especially war) so you can make some political statement?
>fuck it, you were already forcing your captive audience to deal with all your other shit
It only gets worse...
Guild Wars 2 was personally my all-time greatest disappointment in video games. Guild Wars 1 was the best PvP MMO, it rewarded innovative strategies and cooperation within a group of reasonable size. 8 players was perfect for a large diversity of roles but not so big communication became an issue. I would love to see a Guild Wars 3 that combined GW1-style talent trees and spell selection with GW2's movement, but it's unlikely that will ever happen.
Is it bad that when GW2 came out and I heard Felicia Day was voicing the main Asura, I put the entire Asura race on the shitlist?
I still remember buying GW2 on release day without looking up gameplay footage beforehand. Dropped that game within a week I believe. Never got past level 28.
Sauce please
>all these newfags ITT that think GW1 was an MMORPG
it was as much as MMORPG as Diablo 3 or Destiny
The living story is kind of shite but Path of Fire was good.
the gameplay, story and endgame content will probably be shit again like usual, but man i'm still hyped to explore cantha again
kaineng city and echovald forest could be great zones for some verticality and jumping puzzles and shit like that
Was the first and only time I pre-ordered a game. Got early access, played for a few hours and immediately canceled my pre-order. Was fucking depressing. Only game almost as disappointing was Diablo 3 release.
>I put the entire Asura race on the shitlist
I don't blame you Asurans own a large portion of the cringe in the game. If it wasn't her it would have been something else.
Destiny is just as much an MMO as WoW and the clones.
>>lets swap the gameplay from GW's unique system that leads to highly tactical team play
That's easy to say in retrospect; the GW2 devs thought they could take GW and successfully adapt it to be more like WoW (which was still the uncontested king of MMOs back then), and keep fans of the first game happy.
Yeah man I still have Guild Wars 1 and the expansions but I forgot my login data lol and the email attached to it doesn't exist anymore, what can I do to play it again?
Ask support and send them your key. They are pretty nice.
>more dragons
bros..
>and keep fans of the first game happy
>remove the skill system all together
>remove conditions
>remove hexes and boons
???
You're literally the second person to call GW1 an MMORPG in this thread. The first was a guy that obviously didn't play it.
I bought it from Steam while it was on discount with all the expansions. So the key is mostly on Steam, or?
One of the main reasons I played GW was because it wasn't WoW. God I hate those sorts of decisions.
i wonder what the new gameplay mechanic will be in the next expansion (like gliding and mounts)
>remove boons and conditions
What?
I am not sure about Steam but it may work
hexes are fucking gay dude
but they did strip all identity from the game. oh well the game is turning 8 so i guess it worked out.
>>humans blaspheming the god of the fire of human spirit (which means he governs any undertaking especially war) so you can make some political statement?
Balthazar was going to throw the world into ruin with killing all the elder dragons. The humans in the story had major problems with having to stop Balthazar. They weren't outright saying "fuck this guy"
I think making Balthazar the villain and not Menzies, who I'm sure lots of players have wanted to see since Dhuum was introduced, was a massive mistake.
He obviously never played GW2. Funny that the shitposters have no idea what they are shitposting about.
I love Gwen!
I mean the dumbed down system of stacking small icons below the health bar
mounts were so successful they'll probably just release more.
Have fun with your tranny simulator 2020 game then
okay thanks, I will try it. Will be good nostalgia because I haven't played it for a very long time, like over 10 years.
Post Asuras, faggots.
what type of mount could they still add that won't feel gimmicky, though?
>hear GW1 fags whining about how GW2 destroyed the combat
>look up vids of pvp and pve
>it's exactly same shit except uglier and with a mana bar
Seriously was is there no other game that plays like GW1?
collecting hundreds of skills and then making a build of just a handful, and then adventuring out of town into a wide rpg world is such a compelling concept, so why do we still not have a spiritual successors?
Where are all the original GW1 devs now after they left arenanet?
It's not even remotely similar
I have been wondering about the same thing for years
They spread all over the industry. The main guys now work for Amazon and their next project doesn't look promising.
Shit.
i think GW1 is overrated and GW2 is underrated, but you're wrong, the combat from both games are wildly different
GW1's combat almost felt like you were playing a strategy game at times, whereas GW2 feels more like real-time combat as you would expect from an MMO
WoW, but soulless. I dont get the appeal
New expansion out yet?
I've always wondered.
Does "Lesbian Trans Woman" mean she used to be a man, then she became a women, and now fucks women.
If so...what's the point in transtioning at all
condition damage lmao
like imagine having any hope for PvP when it was just Izzy as head balance and his cabal of retards
i will never forget like 3 months into the game "um i use juggernaught and kick on my warrior in PvP and i do just fine"
completely fucked from the start.
severely outdated
>comparing combat from VIDEOS without actually playing the game
