Commentary on the limitations of linear narrarive

Obnoxious british voice : the game

Isn't game design so funny? Let me have the exact same set up and delivery for all of my jokes. Haha designer vs player! So aware!

As a guy whose games are 80% indie and played this, let me tell you it is dogshit even by bad indie standarts

i liked the broom closet ending
it was the best ending

nobody think South Park is deep
and that’s why South Park is based, is just dumb toilet humor, unlike Basedboy and Morty

LOL META
that’s it. is interesting but is just dumb jokes everytime

its just a fun little narrative game about level design
dont think too hard about something just trying to make you laugh for a bit

never played gone home, why everyone hates it? is just a game about searching stuff in your home, how can that be bad

oh fug im like super close to getting the 5 year wait achievement!!

This is the only game that has ever given me motion sickness.

boring faggot pandering nongame

because of the massive amount of undeserved critical acclaim it got from journos

The goal of the game is to go home, as the title suggests, but you are already there. Not much of a game, is it?

it's an exercise in filtering pretentious faggots who think they're above it

The player has no agency in a game's story narrative. Even when you diverge off one story path, you're just stepping into the creator designed machinations of another.

so is just another undertale or TLOU in which people hate it for their hateboners towards journos/contrarianism?

>The player has no agency in a game's story narrative.
well duh, videogames are programs made by someone. of course you gotta follow what the devs desinged to be done, or else there wouldn’t be story. in fact every story is just an unalterable action, of course all stories in vidya will be about you taking the role of the MC, doing what he’s supposed to do in the story

>is just a game about searching stuff in your home, how can that be bad
I hate doing this in video games. It's always the kind of game that's not worth replaying, so my entire experience with the character is that they're so completely clueless they have to spend hours stumbling around their own house to find anything. It's like a genre for recovering amnesiacs.

You're missing the point completely.

Maybe I'm just dumb for biting, but you know you can manipulate your device's date to trick the game into thinking you got it, right ?

>of course you gotta follow what the devs desinged to be done
That's not always the case, players often stray from the path that is marked to find items or secrets, perhaps explore or outright break the game, The Stanley Parable adds narrative to such actions

well sir, i browse Zig Forums. the fuck did you expected? i’m a failure at life

Come on we aren't that bad

>well duh
Most parables can be responded to like that. They're not profound truths, they're simple thought experiments that people don't usually take the time to consider.

> Here's a funny knock-knock joke
> Oh that was a good one, very funny
> Here's a thousand more for several hours

That's what Stanley Parable is, it's a joke game with only one joke.

Office work sucks
