Chief literally does not have any thought processes beyond what you do when you’re playing the game. The guy wakes up when Halo 1 starts and spends the next two weeks or so following orders and concerned mostly on nailing the plasma magnum/BR combo

Every Halo after ODST is non-canon. Though Halo 3 did have worse writing than 2 though, on both plot and characters.

The only things Halo related that are canon are the games written by Joe Staten.

Halo 2 really deserved a proper follow up instead of that travesty.

Each Halo game has some contention to it
Like Combat Evolved has some pretty nice combat for its time but the level design leaves much to be desired
Halo 2 brought some cool ideas but counteracted then with a tough as nails hard-mode and bad weapon design decisions, etc.
if you can get them dirt cheap to for free, I say go for it

Yes. They’re all astounding and now that all 1, 2 and 3 are out most complaints about the series aren’t as important anymore. The things people complain about are some unfortunate cuts and some rushed balance in 2, but now that the trilogy is complete it’s nothing to complain about

My buddy hated Halo 2 with a seething passion when I asked him to join me for co-op, said he hates not being able to sprint how shitty the fight against Regret was
Then again I knew the Regret fight was total ass, and I lied to him saying there’s a boss battle to look forward to in the level knowing he’d hate it

Whatever you do, play them in release order. Just like Star Wars, this is a story that was NOT meant to be told in chronological order.
So go H1 - H2 - H3 - H3ODST - Reach.
Then I suggest you stop there cause all games beyond Reach were made by a different dev team and also just like Star Wars it's all downhill from there.

He instantly jumped straight up from crashing landing from orbit to try and kill the Arbiter in Halo 3, so it’s not out of the question for Spark

That’s an odd complaint to me. You shoot your way across half a halo and beat the guy in a control room. I don’t know what he needed out of that fight, the set was cool enough, Regret is a pussy, and the game has enough going on I can’t imagine focusing on just that

if they have the audacity to do this it'll only make the Halo community hate 343 even more. What spark did is unforgiveable and no amount of rewrites abd Dindu Nuffins will ever erase what he did to Johnson infront of all of us.

Rather than Chadbot I would have rather seen Spark either stay dead, cuz he completed his story arc already, or do something way more dramatic as a result of his death
Like a UNSC scientist discovered what remained of Spark, studied it a bit and then Spark took the chance to upload himself into an AI compatible UNSC battleship to commandeer it. Now he can help Chief again in the form of a battleship and Chief literally can’t do a thing about it until he finds a cannon big enough to deal with him
